Apparently, Juventus sold 520,000 Ronaldo shirts within the first 24 hours. And €105 for a shirt with his name on the back and they’ve earned €55m altogether so far.

It’s just crazy.

Juve don't earn anything from shirt sales, it all goes to the manufacturer. One of the big myths of football that the clubs earn anything from shirt sales.

Clubs get 10%-15% of the money made from shirt sales, they also get the money made from names, numbers and sleeve badges.

Thierry Henry quitting Sky pundit role to focus on managerial career

• Henry, 40, was Belgium assistant manager at World Cup
• Former Arsenal striker wants to ‘spend more time’ coaching

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... um-arsenal

Good. Found him to be too dry / disappointing. :fp: Christ, I think I preferred Redknapp over him, even. Not saying Redknapp was more knowledgeable or interesting, just that listening to Henry speak was akin to waiting for something interesting to happen and forever being let down. At least with Redknapp you know what you're in for and can just tune the strawberry floater out.

You really shouldn't post this until he's actually signed.

I managed to get some PL tickets this morning in the LFC members sale, Everton, Man United, Man City, and Arsenal.

The prices are actually mental though, £59 each.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Why not? It’s the intent on spending big that’s more the point.

I want other forumites to note that lots of Liverpool fans are perfectly normal, such as myself, bear, and Finiarél.

I think that's the first red and black Manchester United kit I haven't liked.

Sounds like Madrid are in for Courtois. Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea sign Alisson.

I’ve seen €35m mentioned on Twitter. Last year of his contract, but what a bargain if true.

Di Marzio saying Hazard could follow Courtois. Has already agreed personal terms with Madrid. Just up to both clubs to agree the fee.

Alexis Sánchez misses the start of Manchester United’s American tour

• Club blames ‘personal administrative issue’
• United agree fee for Daley Blind to return to Ajax

The Chilean was not in the party that flew to Los Angeles on Sunday due to the problem. It is thought to relate to Sánchez being unable to obtain a US visa, possibly due to his acceptance of a 16-month prison sentence in February for tax fraud in Spain for an alleged €1m relating to image rights.

:fp: Great start to the pre-season.
