It’s a shame Blind didn’t have any pace. He was a good squad player otherwise and did really well at CB for the most part, probably should’ve got more chances in midfield but Mourinho didn’t fancy him there at all for some weird reason.

The Chilean was not in the party that flew to Los Angeles on Sunday due to the problem. It is thought to relate to Sánchez being unable to obtain a US visa, possibly due to his acceptance of a 16-month prison sentence in February for tax fraud in Spain for an alleged €1m relating to image rights.

:fp: Great start to the pre-season.

It’s because of the tax fraud conviction. The US will not grant visas to anybody that has been convicted of fraud.

Alisson: Liverpool offer for Brazil goalkeeper accepted by Roma

Liverpool have agreed a fee of about £66.8m for Roma goalkeeper Alisson.

The Premier League club are now expected to hold talks with the Brazil international.

I don't have Winckles permission to comment on any Liverpool transfer speculation. :(

If we do get Allison we'll have gotten him and Salah for about £100m, not too bad.

I'm surprised Roma are even answering your calls after you only paid them £30m for Salah.

Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players, yes. But if you bring one player in for £100m or whatever, and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney. Do I have to do it differently to that? Actually, I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money. The day that this is football, I’m not in a job any more

Still haven't spent £100 million on one player.

Buzzing with the Alison news, hopefully it gets wrapped up quickly and we can move onto replacing coutinho.

Really impressed by the way Liverpool have gone about their business this summer.
To be fair Karius made a keeper an absolute necessity but they’ve strengthened well. I think they could do very well this season but an awful lot of that depends on Salah continuing that rich vein of form.

Genuinely think they'll make a strong challenge for the title this season. Reasonably settled starting XI, and are strengthening in the correct areas. If the new players take to the league and Salah continues where he left off last season, they'll be up there at least.

I think Liverpool's front 3 are all very good players, Shaqiri is good cover if one isn't firing on all cylinders, possibly another coming too.

I'm hoping Liverpool aren't too dependent on Salah next season but if things turn out the way they look, this transfer window could be one of Liverpool's best. The obvious problem to this is that a trophy or title challenge should be expected. Still think Keita is going to prove to be our best buy.

When did we spend £100m on one player?

You just broke the record fee for a keeper.
If you can’t see the point being made about Klopp’s obvious and frankly embarrassing hypocrisy - then you really are deluded.

If you want top quality then you have to pony up the dough.

Klopp and Liverpool are waking up to the fact finally.
You’ve been a great club and a huge club for as long as I can remember. It’s about time you started acting like one in the transfer market.

It literally says spending £100m on one player which we haven't done. You lot can't just go around moving the goals posts to suit your own narrative.

On to signing him, if he comes to us then I'll be over the moon as it means Karius or Mignolet won't be our number 1 keeper next season.

Now if only we could get another CB or if Lovern could perform to be the player he thinks then we should be in for a good season.

On a side note, over the last 4 or 5 years I've started to care less and less about transfer fees because really it makes little to no difference to a lot of fans, as long as the player improves our team/squad then I am more than happy with it.

Come on now

No one is changing the narrative. He says “£100m or whatever”. It’s very clear what he’s getting at, and breaking the world transfer records for a defender and for a goalkeeper very much falls within “or whatever”.

It was a daft comment by Klopp and one I’m sure he doesn’t stand by now.
