Media are only talking about spurs cos it’s deadline day and its the first time they haven’t signed anyone in years, no media bias or anything.

They have a squad that should be in the top 8 and definitely not just scraping to survive.

I’m cautiously optimistic but a few of these players I’ve never seen play and have heard mixed things about our record signing Anderson who is a talent but apparently inconsistent.

We do at least have a much bigger squad than before so we should certainly avoid a relegation scrap and could even threaten top 6 if all goes well, but I’d settle for top-half at this point.

Fosu-Mensah has joined Fulham on loan. Now that pisses me off. United spend the whole window chasing centre backs and then when they don't get one, instead of turning to a top youth prospect they farm him out again.

Decent enough window for Palace, a lot of deadwood has gone, and the two major departures in Cabaye and Loftus-Cheek have been replaced by Meyer (point to prove) and Kouyate (always thought him decent)...

Add in a new keeper (seemed highly rated in Spain) and Jordan Ayew as cover and the ins are fair enough, the more important things were keeping hold of Zaha and finding Benteke's scoring boots down the back of the sofa Frank de Boer had...

Have we done season predictions yet?

My predictions: Manchester United will win the league, or finish outside the top 4. Mourinho will get broomed for a temporary replacement by year's end if they're not looking close to being competitive.

 Pretty much.

I'm obviously erring on the side of "disaster" of a season in the making but in the past, whenever I've been *certain* X *will* happen, it's usually the opposite that occurs. I'm hoping this season turns out to be one of those moments. ( Though in the past those moments have all been single games, not an entire season/tournament.)

For sheer 'what the absolutely strawberry float', this unveiling will take some beating.

I get that pretty much everyone hates Jose at this point but if the recent reports are true it's pretty concerning to see the player assessment at a club being conducted by a strawberry floating banker rather than anyone involved in the scouting or coaching of players

Yeah United desperately need a Director of Football to bridge the gap between the board and the manager, it's not really working at the moment.

I don't even follow the PL much and I'm already sick of the coverage of Mourinho. He needs to strawberry float off already.

You won't hear a bad word about Woodward in the press because all the journalist dickheads will get their press access cut off and no briefings. So it's all-in on Mourinho being the main problem in the club (the briefings seem to have done a great job making people believe he's the only problem and absolving Woodward of any blame surprise, surprise) when you've got Woodward with zero footballing knowledge doing the job of a Director of Football and thinking he's a better judge of player than one of the most decorated managers around.

Said this before but I can't see the club moving forward in any meaningful way with him in that position.

It didn’t work out for him with Liverpool or England, but he is a pretty solid manager at mid/lower table clubs.

He did great for Palace last season and I think he’ll do a decent job this year.

Pfft, United players can move around just fine in their New 2018 Chevrolet Camaros, or on their new officially licensed YT347C Yanmar tractors

I can totally imagine Santi Cazorla being able to do magic tricks. In fact I'll now be disappointed if he can't.
