another iffy england performance that they were lucky to get anything out off. A very clumsy tackle to bring kane down.

I didn't even know England were playing tonight, seems like I didn't miss much. It was ever thus.

The players looked tired to me.

I may not need much encouragement to give the World Cup a miss if this is an indication of what we can expect.

Well that was a poor game didn’t much enjoy the channel 4 presentation either. The pitch/crowd audio was too loud to hear the commentators at times

Southgate's starting 11 and tactics just need scrapping now, they just aren't performing. Why some of this squad seem to be set in stone when they have been entirely anonymous for so long is a constant mystery.

Genuinely would love to know what some of these bench players have done to Southgate to be so shut out

Thanks for the write up, very interesting and makes sense to all the rumours I hear about his attitude. I'm not convinced it will work out if he came to Spurs.

What monumental banana splits. I instinctively thought "I bet they voted for Brexit" and then realised they probably weren't old enough to vote at the time .

I think a combination of the last two matches being Nations League matches, the coverage being on Ch4, and England being incredibly dull to watch, all means there's been a bit less interest in the recent games. Always just feels like a waste of time after watching, so I've learned my lesson there.

As a Forest fan I used to look forward to England games to cheer me up.

Nunez seems to be really speeding up. Talk of everything been tied up already.

Yeah my thoughts as well. Conte will either sort out his attitude or it will end in a £10m transfer to Everton in a couple of years.

Manu are trying to lure him with Big wages at mo, so far the player has chosen Liverpool but if he pulls a Timo Werner and declines CL football for money then I wouldn't want him.

United have to offer more money - solely because they cannot offer champions league. My hope is that Ten Hag will be able to sign players based on his appraisal of them and how well they will suit his style of play. Incentives to join united are not just monetary but it is the bottom line. I think Nunez is a done deal but if he did choose United it wouldn't just be for the money. United are in a state of flux and a big transition is about to be embarked upon. That brings its challenges but there is an appeal for players to be part of something like that.

Just trying to avoid the narrative where the dreaded phrase 'net spend' appears because clubs are using money to lure the less noble footballers away from the spirited minnows at Anfield where footballers only want enough to feed their children.

Why is it dreaded?

I mean, Liverpool are trying to maximize the amount Bayern pay for Mane to fund the Nunez deal, they are directly linked but it can't be mentioned because.....why exactly?

Is nunez a good signing if it happens for Liverpool? Is he a forward I take it?

He played against us twice in the quarter finals of the Champions League like, a couple of months ago, he scored against us at Anfield and at Benfica....
