I’m kind of mesmerised and perplexed by this. No way Phillips could avoid that. Such a strange incident

It's an absolute farce, the standards of the refereeing in the Prem this year has been shocking. There is a huge issue every weekend of games.

Drawing a Super Sunday title run in game 0-0 - vintage Barclays, it's good to be back :slol:

I'll take that with the possession City had. After the battering we got there last year it was important to not lose. Four from six against Liverpool and City is great. I don't think any side is going to win the next nine in a row.

I reckon Arsenal will win all the remaining games except against Brighton on Saturday and that’s where the title will be lost.

I've also just caught up with the Conti Cup final. Thoughts:
1) Yay, we won!
2) Hahahaha strawberry float off Emma Hayes :toot:
3) Most importantly, I hope Frida Maanum is okay after collapsing. Apparently she's awake and stable so fingers crossed.

There's a debate on the BBC Football live page, and everyone is getting it wrong :slol:.

What is a half volley?

1. When you strike a ball that has already bounced on the ground
2. Only if struck immediately after the ball bounces

If it's hit the ground before you kick it, it's a half volley! I will fight you all. It's only a 'full' volley if the last thing the ball touched was not the ground.

A half voley is when you only put in 50% power.

I always thought it was generally considered a half-volley if the ball was on the up after bouncing, while a volley is when the ball is falling?

Growing up, I always thought it was volley = ball is in the air, half volley = as the ball bounces. This makes more sense to me because these are two different things. Why do you need to differentiate between a ball in the air that has or hasn't bounced? The ball is still being struck in the air. Whereas striking it as it bounces is clearly different.

Yeah volley = no bounce and half volley = kick after a bounce hence the HALF volley.

I prefer a 1/3 volley anyway.

Is it still a full volley if it hits this guy first?

i get that but question

the ball is kicked very high in the air, it bounces high again, and on the way down after the bounce it is kicked in the goal.
is that a full volley?
