It all seems so arbitrary. 10 points, then reduce it to 6 because they appealed, then the next breach is 2 points... ok?

Then Forest only got a 4 point deduction on top of it.

Just proving that they need a regulator.

The fact clubs can run up so much debts despite marking so much money just seems insane to me. I think the various club owners are not necessarily looking at yearly profits but it's what they can make from a future sale.

Really club's shouldn't be allowed to ring up these debts.

They should have a fixed points deduction for each breach, that applies to every team.

Break the financial rules by £20m or less? 5 point deduction.

Break it by £20m-£100m? 10 point deduction.

£100m or more? 25 point deduction.

You're called Man City? Relegation to the 10th tier, with no promotion for a minimum of ten years.

They've laid the groundwork now for an almighty legal case at the end of the season by whoever ends up in the third relegation spot.

This would be more consistent and transparent.

But I think some clubs, if they broke it by £21m, would then just think they might as well go the whole way to £100m.

And they'd then be docked a lot more points, risking their league title/Champions League spot/place in the league.

The free kick Madrid conceded wasn't exactly unstoppable.

Considering these teams are meant to be the best in Europe right now, it doesn't look it!

I've only watched the second half, but City look outrageously good .

Amazing how Saka's limp cleared up as soon as he confronted the ref.

Utterly flabbergasting decision.

In terms of the actual game, obviously you look at Jesus and Trossard getting the goal from the bench, but I thought Kiwior going off improved us massively. He was totally out of his depth, both the goals came from his side, and I think his torrid night meant Martinelli struggled as well. A tough night for him.

It sounds weird but I don't know whether having no fans made things a bit easier for Bayern tonight given their form. Probably makes no difference whatsoever but they might have appreciated a night off

It’s one of those where it shouldn’t be a penalty because Saka has really just kicked the keeper more than anything, like that penalty Newcastle got against West Ham the other day. But then you ask why it wasn’t a penalty since Newcastle got one against West Ham the other day!

Nah, he obviously sticks his leg out to make contact. No penalty for me.
