Only one nomination for Pyre. Two for Nier. Zilch for Yakuza. Worthless awards.

Looking forward to seeing what the reveals are. When I wake up on Friday morning.

I mean, game direction, art direction, narrative and musical score should all go to Gravity Rush 2, but it's not nominated for any of them, so of course the awards are worthless

I gave up on it. Lost the will to carry on when the game gives you Jupiter powers in a confined setting. I honestly cannot think of a single worst level I've played in the last 2 gens.

I mean sure but also it's 10 minutes long and never happens again and Jupiter is super fun once you get outside of that

Also does this mean you never went back to Heskeville

Seems like this gets bigger every year, Keighly really wants this to be the videogame equivalent of the Oscars, it's certainly turning into the winter E3.

Not too bothered about the awards themselves, I just want to see more Death Stranding and the new Nintendo unveilings.

Yeah it's definitely a good thing to have a high profile event at the end of the year - although I wish it were a earlier in the evening. I'm sure there will be loads of trailery goodness. Keighly has done so well in becoming an intrinsic part of the E3 conferences and end of year awards. He's a normal face that represents the industry and the gamer public.

If Bethesda hadn't started doing their own press conferences at E3 I would be hoping for an Elder Scrolls VI reveal. I guess we have to wait until E3 2018 for the November 2019 release...

Whilst on the toilet yesterday i was thinking about my GotY, and i have to agree, Y0 is absolutely my choice. It has the longest lasting unique memories to me and is probably freshest in my mind despite it being out at the front end of the year. And it managed to eek out numerous emotional responses from me, which always scores bonus points.

Hopefully some Zelda DLC news incoming.

Also do Switch games not count for the handheld category...?

It do.

Honestly, the confined space + shitty camera meant it (that stage) was already testing my patience even before I got Jupiter powers.

I loved the original and so it pained me to put the squeal away so early. However, I know it took me many an attempt of the original before it won me over, so chances are I'll return to GR2 at some point to give it another chance.

I hate this show, if it didn’t have trailers and reveals it would be irrelevant.

Bold what should win
Underlined what will win
Italic red what definitely shouldn’t win

Looks like I have a vendetta against Odyssey. Seems like there’s going to be a strawberry float tonne of reveals and as this is basically the best year in gaming ever and I’ve played 80% of the nominees it’ll be fascinating to see what wins.

Of all those nominated games, I've only played 6, and two of those are over a year old from the ongoing games category.
