It's always just felt like a trailer show with awards shoehorned into it.

Awards shows are boring. This makes it an event.

So pleased for the Zelda guys, absolutely the right and deserving winner and hopefully it shows them how much the hard work and direction they took it in is appreciated by fans and critics alike. Was great to see how excited Anouma was, seems like it really means a lot to them which just shows how ridiculous the comment above is. Hopefully this spurs them on to fold what they learned from BOTW into the next Zelda.

Overall thought the show was fantastic. The ads are a bit of a pain but Keighley has to pay for it somehow and they were far less intrusive than previous years and no cringey Gillette man. The Hellblade and Cuphead wins were great to see, Nier taking soundtrack was a surprise. The presentation from the A Way Out Guy was hysterical.

Apart from the "strawberry float the Oscars!" idiot from EA I thought it was a great show, massive improvement on last year and a great positive reflection on the industry.

Hopefully Keighly will continue to take it in this direction.
