Please hire an artist. Sorry, but they all look pretty bad and not sure why but all have a dark color theme, even Pokemon.

The X/Y one is great, and Beth really liked the Black & White cover. Have to say that the Tales and GTA one do look a little off.

Should totally hire Wil Overton, bring Worldy bloke back.

Yea, I've fed back the 'alien eyes' Tales one (it'll be getting re-done a bit later), not sure if the GTA one is going to get re-done just yet though. We couldn't afford Wil (Seb's spending a fair bit more than before on these new covers as it is).

I think this new designer's skills allow for better non-human designs (such as the Pokemon covers). Hopefully he'll get better at drawing humans for the remaining ones.

@Alpha: All the really good gaming-experienced artists cost an absolute fortune (assuming you can even get them to find the time), so we're doing the best we can with the seriously limited budget we've got. And at the end of the day, they're already out-performing on sales with the new covers versus the old ones.

On a serious note, I know a few artists who freelance from time to time who could do a great job if you ever wanted new art.

I'm currently trying to get Wil Overton doing my Pikmin commission.

The main concern right now is costs. 50 covers x £X = quite a lot at any fair designer's price. Once we've got our next round of funding locked down I'll bring it up with Seb and I'll certainly drop you a PM if he ever considers re-re-doing the covers again. Thanks for the offer :)

(And I'd love to see what Wil does if you manage to nab him for your Pikmin work) :D

Latest cover (the AC4 one isn't exactly great, so I'll not show that one :slol:), really like this one.

Our iPad app has been updated to work with iPhones or iPods running iOS7 (so it's a universal app). Works really well on the iPhone (even with its reduced screen size).

We've also just reached over 10,000 signed-up users to the site and launched our Zelda 3DS guide (with a different cover artist who's much better at human features than the other one):

That art is certainly an improvement. Colours, tone and proportion is better although a little "soft" and flat, lacking depth and line. Composition is good. The logo has some aliasing and not sure about the glow.

Tbh I wouldn't hire the other guy for anything human or anthropomorphic. They haven't studied anatomy or life drawing, formally or indirectly.

Cheers for the feedback Gecko. We've still got that other designer for monster-like covers (as he does an amazing job on those and his covers are more vibrant and less 'flat' than the likes of the Zelda one); but I don't believe we're using him for any human-like ones again.

I think the aliasing issue has already been picked up on and a tweaked version is due today.

So we've finally got around to properly re-designing the site (designed by professional graphic designers - sorry Seb! :P ). It's now fully responsive for all devices and resolution sizes, looks cleaner and has a completely unique guide view (where you can tap left and right on your keyboard or swipe left or right on a handheld device to move between pages for example).

We're updating all our existing guides for the new format (which will take a little while and we're adding in any missing DLC for games etc as we go along), but I'd love to hear if anyone here has any thoughts on it. Good or bad we'll take it all :D

With that public announcement out of the way, it's time to get back to writing my life-consuming Dark Souls 2 guide... :dread: :dread:

ASAP. It's a genuine nightmare to write as it's simply a content packed game. Intro section is done, working on massive combat section, then main story walkthrough. Will then get PvP and items/armour etc added after.

Did you beat the ancient dragon yet btw?
