So...

GamerGuides.com has had a re-design on the covers (from the same graphics designer who produced the graphics for my own guide apps a while back). Here's the list of guides on the site, their cover and a link to them. Each guide has a sample section for checking it out. Feedback is always appreciated :D

Clicking on a cover will take you directly to the guide

I don't have an iPhone, but I think we should give Millsy our support - he's a good guy, and his Guides are cheap and (judging by his past work) well-made.

Unfortunately I can't give much by way of constructive feedback without first hand experience of the Guides. Sorry, mate.

Quite like the background for the MW2 guide.

And I echo Rudderless' comments, can't really give any feedback until I've used the guides.

I agree. He's not just some anonymous git trying to flog tat. He's one of our own gits.

Seriously, I have no problem with this thread.

Agreed.

Will make a US account and let you know what I think, Andy.

GOW3 guide looks good. Probably give it a pop when it's up.

Is that what we have to do? Create a whole new account? Is this going to cause iPhone sync problems?

I support this thread Andrew, although I won't be buying any just yet as I have no Apple related products, atm, I will help out the best that I could, on top of reviews you need to generate some kind of buzz or a redirection to get people to your guides from elsewhere, like Twitter for example.

I hope so.

1. Create US iTunes Account.
2. Sign in on your iPhone.
3. Go to iTunes App rather than App Store on your iPhone.
4. Put in code.
5. Go back to your UK account.

All should be well.

I've just done it all in iTunes, then did a sync at the end. Bit of a faff, but worked fine.

EDIT: Spelling error on the very first page. "100% unoffical". First impressions, and all that.

Cheers for the support guys, much appreciated. :D

I too like the background on my MW2 guide, but I simply don't have the required 'skillz' to pull off what my original vision was that utilised that style. :(

So I've decided to style the guides in a similar colour-scheme of the guide it's covering, hoping to breed an air of familiarity to them. Plus the GOW3 one - imho - looks a lot easier on the eyes than my MW2 (which granted, was my first ever attempt at all of this).

I've only just discovered the promo codes, so not sure the easiest way to get them working for us UK'ers (yet).

   :fp:

*adds to list of things to stick in first update*

At least it only appears for a second or so before disappearing... :shifty: *sneaks away quietly*

I hate stuff like this cluttering up the App Store sales charts and stopping me from finding what I really want. I'm sure you're doing a great job writing them but when I search for something I really hate it when I see "eBooks" or "Guides" popping up in the results. These are NOT "applications", they're merely text content modified slightly to suit the device better.

PS: Gamestation Dundee don't sell iPhone games yet.

What on earth are you searching for that eBooks and guides pop up when you don't want them?

Why on earth would you think this tripe is worth posting in this thread? Andrew is doing something good, and hopefully he'll make some money from it. I'm sure his guide is better than 99% of the shite in the iTunes store, so I doubt he's bothered that it'll take you an extra 30 seconds to find some iPint or Fart Button guff.
