It's pretty ridiculous I'm going to Cardiff to watch them because they're literally playing 15 minutes from my house at Villa Park....but all my mates from down there are going so will be more fun than dragging my missus along here who doesn't like them.

But as a huge Cardiff fan, it will be so much more special for you there.

Went to see guns n roses at Hyde Park yesterday. It was fantastic, they started bang on time, the sound was perfect, Axel's singing was great on all but a couple of tunes, slash was on strawberry floating fire and they played for 3 hours straight with no break.

Glad you enjoyed it. After the Glastonbury vocals, it's good to know Axl can occasionally manage to sing at a gig.

I was expecting him to be awful having watched that, but it was great.

Maiden at Brum last night. Great gig and no complaints from me. They still deliver, Eddie is still cool as strawberry float and Jannick is still stealing a living.
Lord of the lost (German Eurovision entry that came last) supported and had some great grooves at times. I'd see them again.

I'm off to London today to see Bruce Springsteen. Is it wrong that I'm most looking forward to seeing Silvio Dante? ;)

Amazing gig. I'm not the biggest Springsteen fan, I probably only knew 7 out of 28 songs, but it was still a fantastic experience. 70 something years old and still performing 3 hour shows, I felt strawberry floating knackered and I was just stood up.

That was me 10 yrs ago. Saw him in Coventry (day after Tony Soprano had passed so Steven and Bruce were quite emotional).

Anyway, I only knew 10 of the 30 he played but had a great time. Told my wife how great he was.

Roll forward 10 yrs to 2 weeks ago and we both saw him at Villa Park. This time I knew 22 of the 28, she knew 6 or 7 at a push but also loved him.

He's 73 but is so fit. Wish I'd seen him doing the 4hr+ gigs in the 80s and 90s

Using your example, he'll be 83 when I finally know most of his songs.

I also really liked the Chicks (used to be called Dixie Chicks). Country isn't my thing, but they were very very good.

Saw Pulp last night. I hadn't seen them before, they were the Britpop era band that got away from me.

Incredible show, I enjoyed every second.

I saw them at Cardiff International Arena, it was great to see a band indoors. Every gig I've been to over the last decade seems to have been outside, it was nice to be inside and be able to see/hear things properly.

The sound in the CIA is always absolutely dreadful too, so hopefully you didn't notice with only outside to compare too. We avoid gigs there unless there's no preferable venue for that reason.

The Tramshed in Cardiff is an excellent little venue (it's close to the stadium just over the river). You get smaller acts in there but every now and then you'll get something that's worth heading there for.

The sell with the CIA for me is the L2 package. You get a 2 course meal before the event and get entry from the restaurant to the arena as soon as the doors open, ensuring a decent position.
Yeah, sound is dogshit but I wear plugs because of tinnitus so it's not critical.

Saw Metallica live from Arlington/Dallas, Texas last night. Seeing night 2 tomorrow night.

The catch? I’m not in USA, but rather watching at my local cinema as part of the worldwide stream/playback experience. The sound faded in and out a little but worse was the constant Tv menu and info bar appearing and disappearing all along the left, bottom and part of middle of the screen as soon as Creeping Death started (the opening song) and continued through Harvester of Sorrow. Several of us had to get up and complain to staff to get the menu etc sorted. Ruined the experience somewhat.

As for the gig, it was not their best I thought. James’ voice failed to hit the right notes a few times unfortunately although musically they were all on point.

Hopefully the technical issues won’t be there tomorrow
