Saw Fall Out Boy on Sunday in Manchester. Great show. Support was great from NothingNowhere but a bit "meh" from PVRIS. Eldest saw them last night in Brum, complete with Halloween outfits. Pete Wentz dressed as grandma wolf from little red riding hood. He threw the mask into the crowd and my daughter caught it. Very chuffed. Same again on Saturday in Cardiff.
Also got Smashing Pumpkin tickets this week for next year. Gigging is a hard hobby to kick...

I went to see Joe Hisaishi in London a few weeks ago. Orchestra, choir, a couple of sopranos, and lots of encores made for a really enjoyable evening. Plenty of Ghibli films covered with montages from the films and medleys of each film's soundtrack. Lovely.

Saw Animals As Leaders last night. Sounded amazing live, and it was in the smaller basement room of the institute in digbeth, so it was packed, and I got super close up to the stage. Loved it.

Digbeth is quite a place. I remember seeing The Lafontaines there a couple of years ago at Mama Roux's.
Very similar to starring in Mad Max I'd imagine.

Hah, I saw Cancer Bats at Mama Roux's last year. It was a hectic show in the tiniest space. The floor of the bogs were a good few inches deep in piss, had to chuck my converse in a bleach wash after.

Makes it all the more fun. Places like JBs in Dudley and Junction 10 in Walsall had similar atmosphere but are long since gone.
Shame. We should be hanging on to these treasures.

Saw Creeper in Nottingham last night. Great tunes and great theatre, I've never seen so much fake blood haha. A really fun evening.

Little Simz tonight. She was great, big energy. It wasn't my ideal setlist, although might bang, might not, into 101 FM, then Venom, was a pretty flawless combo. Far more normie crowd than I'm used to as well.

Green Day tickets went on sale just now.

You must be out of your goddamn mind if you think I'm paying £85 for standing tickets.

£107.25 each here, up in the gods too. Green Day standing is now £97.50 each because of "dynamic pricing". It's a total joke. I'll wait until days before and go on twickets. Getting the hotel is the main thing and I booked that weeks ago.

Going to a gig at Drumsheds in the old Ikea in Tottenham next week
Looks like a great venue! Wonder how it will compare to Printworks

Just got back from seeing Babymetal in Wolverhampton. We got there later than I'd hoped so didn't actually see much of the band due to being behind a lot of tall people. But the music and the atmosphere were great. Next time I'd look at getting balcony seats for a better view. I'd love to see them again, a solid 8/10 from me.

PJ Harvey and mclusky tickets got for next year.

Also, considering The Pixies and Jesus and Mary Chain and will prob get Idles tickets next week.

After a fairly dry gig year for myself, it's looking like a deluge next year!

Saw Billy Bragg's fortieth anniversary tour in Gateshead last night, was brilliant. There was a 'forty years in forty minutes' film first, clips of him singing/talking through the years, then an hour and forty five minute set, then for the encore he played the whole of his first album (which is 17 minutes long). He was on great form and it was a really energising evening. It's 20 years since I first saw him live, at Leeds Festival - bit of a different vibe last night but hasn't lost any of the punch.

Went back to see Madonna at the O2 last week after enjoying it so much the other month. Got a much better seat (£250) this time in row c in one of the middle blocks. Such an amazing show!
