Jesus. Trying to nab some tickets for OMDs tour at the end of the year, and for some reason AXS have a waiting room in place before the tickets become available at 9AM:

> "We randomise everybody waiting into groups"

What's the point of a queue if it's not actually a queue? How have people not managed to make a system for buying gig tickets that isn't a total shambles

I didn't buy tickets to see them for the first time since pre-2007 because it was over £100 per ticket

I tried to get a Manchester ticket too but no joy

Off to see KISS in a week! Looking forward immensely to that. Saw them about 15 yrs ago and it remains one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Ahh I did the Metclub legacy member presale at 9am on the Tuesday. Had everything sorted by 9:15.

Still in debt from it though.

Have a feeling Kiss will be 'the one that got away' for me - it never worked out to see them and can't imagine they'll be around much longer.

It's horrendous. I also knocked back Iron Maiden for being £75 or some such shite, and with their ludicrous anti-tout tickets it wasn't worth the hassle.

Had no idea this thread existed. Just went and saw Wheatus in St Albans and had a great time.

Just returned from seeing KISS in Brum. Amazing live show again from them. 1 night left on their tour in London on Wednesday.

Highly recommended if anyone can get a ticket

That's great and all, but it penalises people who have to sell their tickets for genuine reasons - AFAIK they use the same system Radiohead do. I bought my GF a ticket to see Radiohead in July that she can't use now for work reasons, but I can't transfer the name into someone else so the ticket will go unused and she's wasted £70. I no longer want to go because of this, plus money issues for booking travel and accommodation, but because I'm the lead booker of four tickets I have no choice but to go to Manchester from Glasgow because otherwise two other people can't pick up their tickets and enter the arena. Arcade Fire have done the same thing for their Edinburgh show next week, actually.

They could have partnered with Scarlet Mist or Twickets for ticket resales, but neither band have bothered their arses. As soon as the money's in the bank account it's not their problem anymore. I'd be ok with the system if it offered a recourse for genuine ticket resales, but they haven't taken circumstances into account at all.

Ridiculous pricing aside, Maiden were excellent last night. They were cracking in Newcastle a few weeks ago but upped their game last night, I can't remember seeing them so tight. Though Shinedown were great too considering I'm not normally fussed.

As a bonus - after 18 gigs, I actually got a memento! Unfortunately I did have to see Knoy who is hideously disfigured.
