I've seen Shinedown a couple of times - Brent Smith is a good front man, and they put on a solid show.

This the first year it's been on that I might not go. Only a few bands (including Converge) really pulling me in this year. :(

You should go. Converge, Explosions in the Sky and Russian Circles are all great headliners. And then Sikth, Boris, God is an Astronaut, Jambinai, sleepmakeswaves...YMMV obviously but I can't imagine having a bad time.

Couple of decent bands at ArcTanGent this time out (Explosions in the Sky are great) but I tend to side with Smurphy, I dunno if I'd part with the cash for it, if I had the cash to part with.

I wanted to go to Novarock next week, but unfortunately I couldn't pull a good enough crowd in to go with me. It's a shame really, the line up is a retro-fest for the early 2000s, it would've been fabulous.

I quite like the system. It's still a pretty swift way of getting in. Anything to make life harder for those scummy touts.

That's great and all, but it penalises people who have to sell their tickets for genuine reasons - AFAIK they use the same system Radiohead do. I bought my GF a ticket to see Radiohead in July that she can't use now for work reasons, but I can't transfer the name into someone else so the ticket will go unused and she's wasted £70. I no longer want to go because of this, plus money issues for booking travel and accommodation, but because I'm the lead booker of four tickets I have no choice but to go to Manchester from Glasgow because otherwise two other people can't pick up their tickets and enter the arena. Arcade Fire have done the same thing for their Edinburgh show next week, actually.

They could have partnered with Scarlet Mist or Twickets for ticket resales, but neither band have bothered their arses. As soon as the money's in the bank account it's not their problem anymore. I'd be ok with the system if it offered a recourse for genuine ticket resales, but they haven't taken circumstances into account at all.

Thankfully not an issue I've had to deal with, but that does sound pretty unreasonable. I was under the impression that you were able to get your details changed by getting in touch with the vendor up to 5 days in advance, though. Does that not include transferring ownership?

As a bonus - after 18 gigs, I actually got a memento! Unfortunately I did have to see Knoy who is hideously disfigured.

Yeah, well, at least I know how to link to imgur properly.

Beard on the right's fine. The other badly, badly needs either combed and conditioned or shaved off.

Trying to persuade friends to join me for Scooter in Glasgow next Saturday. Might make a weekend of it and go see Eric Prydz on the Friday again.

Radiohead at Manchester Arena has been moved to Old Trafford cricket ground - thinking I'll take the refund that's been offered, travel costs are a bit extortionate now.

Think I will do the same. I've lost out on £70 for the hotel I booked.

Ah, that's a bit gooseberry fool Dual sorry to hear it. Exceptional circumstances being what they are, you'd hope there would be some leeway from local business on refunds for cancelled bookings as a result of rescheduled gigs. But then again I don't suppose it's their fault that all of this has happened.

Excited going to see Guns N' Roses on Friday @ London Olympic Stadium, it'll be worth the money alone to see Slash do the Sweet Child of Mine solo, can't wait!

What time are they due on stage? Because I'd add an extra hour to that if I was you... ;)

I saw them back in 1993 and remember it being awesome. 24 years ago. :dread:
