So, my sister messages me yesterday and says, "your name is on the guest list at the O2. You have four tickets for Paul McCartney."
Literally one of the best if not best live shows I've ever seen. McCartney is still fantastic. The band is tight. And he played a three hour set and included some brilliant unexpected songs like Temporary Secretary.

Suck my balls, Howlett. Yet another UK/European tour that omits Scotland. :dread:

Gallows last night killed it, I've seen this band like about 25 times since their inception, yesterday was just something special at The Garage in London. Anti Flag next month should kick some ass.

Deffo getting Prodigy tickets for Nottingham. My wife has always loved them but neither of us have ever seen them. When I told her Public Enemy were there too, she freaked. Should be a good one.

If anyone here goes to the same show I wouldn't mind catching some drinks beforehand.

This. strawberry floating random support act to have as well.

I'm hoping that as I travel Europe in late July/ August I'll run into a super cheap music festival where bands I've actually heard of are playing; suggestions are more than welcome.

Depends what you're looking for. Check listings for Pukkelpop, Pinkpop, Novarock, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Sonisphere Italy, Benicassim, Roskilde, etc etc. They're all fairly standard rock/heavy rock festivals. There's fuckloads of techno/electronica festivals all over the place over the summer as well.

Nice one I'll have a look through all them thanks. Benicassim I had heard of before; if I'm down near Spain by then it did cross my mind to visit, looks crazy nice. Would just have to rope in a few folk from a local hostel which I'm sure would be no bother. Festivals in blazing sunshine are flipping awesome

Just got out of Brandon Flowers ( #filth )

So good. I'm liking this trend of artists reimagining old songs. First I find Taylor's 1989 version of Love Story and now Brandon Flowers covers Jenny Was A Friend of Mine

Mr Brightside was dreadful, though. Basically strips out the only memorable/good bit of the whole song.

Check her setlist from the Big Weekend on YouTube. The version of Love Story she does on the 1989 Tour is a more pop-y version fitting in with the rest of the album.

It's a similar thing with her punk-y We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, although I haven't found a decent recording of that yet.

Is that the same song that was on Rocksmith as I really liked that tune. I'll seek it out!

I don't think it's been on Rocksmith, yet :( Which is a shame, because the Killers version has a cracking bassline..

Just noticed he changes the lyrics a bit there as well - "She kicked and screamed while I held her close" :dread:

But yeah, this was just disappointing:

Went Benicassim last year. Really cool place. Plenty of traveling people in small groups.

The heat though :dread: I coped alright compared to some of my mates, but strawberry floating hell it's brutal to wake up in your tent.

Just got in from Poets of the Fall. Absolutely incredible gig. Easily my favourite band

"What have we had all day today?"
"SUN!"
"What?"
"SUN"
"Try again"
"SUN"
"*sigh* Clear. Blue. Sky"

(For those that don't know, Clear Blue Sky is a POTF song)

Highlights: Rumours, Late Goodbye, Lift, Dreaming Wide Awake.

So hoarse, oh mayne
