I picked up a Sunday ticket for a festival next weekend where three bands are playing that I want to see. Found out just after buying that two of them clash. Mercifully it’s still just about worth the ticket but I’m still a bit annoyed.

Is this the Connect festival by any chance? We were supposed to be going up to Edinburgh next week to see Rage Against the Machine on Wednesday, I was a bit annoyed The National and Mogwai were playing on the Sunday of the festival as if it was the Friday we could have extended our stay and got a day ticket. Of course Rage have now cancelled so it's a moot point anyway

It is! It’s only an hour’s drive from Glasgow and the line up for the Sunday is right up my alley - I’d have liked to see Rage as well but I’ve seen them before and couldn’t spare the cash for two weekend passes, I feel a bit better about it now.

Unlucky though - hopefully they’re giving out refunds on the tickets. Looks like ZDlR ripped his ACL? Terrible luck! :dread:

Nice, yeah the lineup looks really good for the Sunday so you should have a good time.

It's very unfortunate for him but we are getting a refund and hadn't actually booked any travel so aren't losing out luckily. It also joins a long list of gigs we've had tickets for that were cancelled for various reasons, including Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Flight of the Conchords, Childish Gambino, Brand New, Genesis, The Weeknd.

If anyone has an artist they have any particular ill will towards let me know and if I buy a ticket they might get injured

Could you stop going to gigs and instead start planning to attend the Tory party conference?

That's utterly horrific luck, tbf.

Never expected them to play any Coattail Riders songs. Loving this show so far.

I managed to catch parts earlier then had to go out. Got it on again from the AC/DC bit.

This is such a crazy brilliant show. Taylor would have absolutely loved this, it's a fitting send off for sure

I remember loving that first album 20 odd years ago. Slightly surreal watching Justin Hawkins sing Louise!

Yeah I had tickets for the Rage gig too and was gutted they cancelled. Can't seen them coming back here any time soon and when they do it'll obviously be somewhere in England. Was good of Run the Jewels to still come though and they managed to get the O2 Academy in Edinburgh so I went to that which made up for it a bit.

I was tempted to go to the Connect Festival mainly to see the Chemical Brothers on the Saturday but couldn't be arsed. I thought the lineup on the whole was pretty disappointing and it sounded like the attendance wasn't as high as expected but it's still happening again next year.

I really can't imagine anyway in which they could have honoured Taylor better than that show. What a celebration of an amazing person.

Also, Dave crying during Times Like These absolutely broke me.

What a strawberry floating show. I'm exhausted but really couldn't have asked for a better concert.

There was definitely a lack of people on the Sunday night but it was a good atmosphere and a well run event. Dunno if you’ve seen Chemicals before but they do have a bloody brilliant show, I just couldn’t afford two days.

Ian Brown continues to be an utter embarrassment, losing what little credibility he had left and trashing his legacy, by charging £40/50 a ticket for his "gig" where there was NO BAND. Just him on stage with a backing track, basically doing karaoke - VERY badly. It's both hilarious and depressing. I assume no musicians are prepared to play with him any more.

I’ll be grabbing a bunch for Glasgow as well. They’re playing with DeLonge as well by the look of it so it’s a must do. Especially with Mark’s health being as it is. Looks like he’s OK for now but you never know. :dread:

They're headlining whenwewereyoung festival which appears to have been organised so closely with every band I listened to when I was 17 with such accuracy that I'm not entirely sure the whole thing isn't a really expensive way of telling me someone found my iPod.

I really want to suggest it to the missus but it's in Vegas and one of her friends was just murdered there so I don't think 'Yea but Motion City Soundtrack are great live' would be a welcome comment.

That story is one of the things stopping me from grabbing a ticket as well - it’s horrendous and LV seems like a legitimately dangerous place at the moment.

But that line up is only a NOFX away from perfection. :dread:
