£78

Was a great ride from my jockey, positioned himself well and stayed out of trouble.

My brother asked my mum to put £20 on Neptune Collonges.

She only went and put it on Neptune Equester. :fp:

Sad about the two horses - I won a bundle of cash on Synchronised in the Gold Cup, and the owners of According To Pete looked so nice. :(

They know the risks though, but still very sad.

I'm not sure that the horses knew the risk. :shifty:

The only certainty in the Grand National is injured/dead horses.

the thing is, synchronized fell and then carried on and broke his leg over another fence. If only it was pulled up after the first fall. Someone needs to invent something to treat race horses that break a leg.

Yeah I'm sure you are just gutted about the death of a friend's friend's horse. I'm going to go through all my friend's friends to see if any own a horse that died, then maybe I can be offended at horse death jokes too.

You can be a prick at times.

I am more gutted that horses, no matter if I own it, know it or not, get shot because they break a leg.

Perhaps it would be less tragic if we re-used the remains of the horse. I'm sure Synchronized steaks would fetch a good price on the open market.
