Hammond is such a strawberry floating tosser. :fp: I'd post the Stewart Lee clip, but I see it's already been done. I presume that was scripted, along with everything else on this show, so they had to have had a good think about that and decide it's be a good "joke" to include. It's just bizarre.

It was scripted not because they are funny or stupid but because that's how shows work, it was left in because it would cause days of controversy on social media getting them more viewers, it's their usual tactics of be outlandish and idiotic in their comments to get people talking about it.

They are doing the "drunk lad in the pub" hung because it is easy to laugh at and you know it is'nt really meant in a literal way so the masses see it as Bantz.

It is them bringing back slowly all the bits of he top gear setup like the return of "how hard can it be" the iluding to "ambitious but rubbish" in a previous show, it is testing when they can and can't get away with.

I haven't seen it but it just sounds like another forced joke in this series that's fallen flat, albeit not with the studio audience.

Doesn't surprise me that Twitter, Guardian and the perpetually offended are upset about it though. Gay jokes, ginger jokes, poop jokes...it's just easy humour if you're creatively devoid of ideas.

To say I was excited following the brilliant opening 3 minutes would be an understatement. This has been a disappointment without doubt. A cynic could say the viewing figures have been disappointing so they needed a bit of controversy, but they claim Amazon don't tell them what the viewing figures are.

I wouldn't say it has fallen flat at all. It was a slow start as they found their feet but the last 2 and a bit episodes have a much better rhythm.

It was always going to be different and a bit difficult as they worked out what they could and couldn't do without hitting copyright rules etc. Also the audience is massively different they are playing to the world now not just the uk so they need stuff for all not just the uk audience so there will be bit we don't get, enjoy etc. But others will.

All this show does is make me look forward to BBC Top Gear and see how they do with Matt LeBlanc at the helm.

The Namibia special was brilliant!
When it's just them three driving around for 2hrs it's a much better programme.

Was in Namibia in October, the Grand Tour guys had been at Erindi reserve (think it was the saving Rhino sketch) I stayed at couple weeks before. The game driver showed us pics, funnily enough said Hammond and May were cool but Clarksons a diva :slol: Was driving around protecting them with a gun since going through the bush.

Enjoyed the 2nd part a lot more, awesome overall so far. The roads over there are generally even much better than over here, looks like they werr going a lot of B roads to make better tv!

The Namibia special was brilliant, really showed how rubbish and unnecessary the studio/tent bits are.

The max is good, really segment too.

I think they have found their feet more now. It took a few episodes but I definetly think it has improved as it has gone on, they seemed to be trying to aim for the country they were in to start and now are doing it all the same which is good as it needs to be like that.

They do need to bin the American though.
