Yes it's basically top gear. There was less reviewing of individual cars, old segments like news and celebrities were used for gags. Particularly unfunny engagement with the fans (Americans this week)

This was ok but the segment with the celebs was terrible for reasons that will become evident when you watch it.

Is the celebrity segment basically more unwatchable padding shite like star in a reasonably priced car was?

It's basically Top Gear on the road and with almost half the entire budget of BBC2.

It somehow managed to be even worse.

A good first episode, very entertaining and some excellent car porn.

It is basically Top Gear with a huge budget though. And that's not a bad thing.

The intro section went on far longer than it should have, but fortunately that should be a one off.

Them getting "out and about" is the reason I stopped watching Top Gear, over scripted nonsense.

Exactly right. Some cringe moments, but Top Gear always had those.

Why on earth would you watch Top Gear over this?
GT is the same thing, with a new lick of paint and a huge budget. Plus better presenters.

This show, or Top Gear, isn't really for you then. It's a comedy show, using cars as the narrative.
And most good comedy shows, are scripted.

Enjoyed that. The studio bits were dreadful though.

I'll give this a watch but I've kind of lost my enthusiasm for this lot since the debacle with the BBC.

I'm watching this now, so far is really good. Making me smile like a proper top gear episode did.

It was alright, but I got a bit bored. There wasn't much other than the Hypercar showdown, but I'd already seen that done before and so it lost my interest.

It was alright. In no way is it worth a prime membership on its own though.
