Shite, drivel, abysmal, dire. All perfectly sum up that dross of a 2nd episode.

Shan't watch any more as my Prime trial expires soon. Don't think I'll be missing much

Just seen Episode Three and I thought it was a lot better than the last week's episode. :D

Episode 3 was decent, although the Hammond gag got old quick.

Ep3 was much much better. Wish the celebrity bit would die off though

I agree. Much better than last week, just a shame they didn't go more into road testing the cars during it all, which they would have done a few years ago.

One thing I do miss is old bangers stuff. Like three gooseberry fool cars and travel in a place with no road infrastructure

I hope they have some actual car reviews next week.

I was hoping this would happen more since they're based in a different country each episode, could have done done a weekly segment. Week one, here's £5k each, you have to each buy a vehicle and take a part of the tent to the set up point, it's 2000 miles away. Week 2, you have to sell your vehicle, the money you make has to be used on your next one, which has to be made in that country, and take the tent again. Next week same thing, but it can't be a 4x4. Week after it can only have a 1.4 l engine. Sure, they'd have to use planes a bit, but maybe incorporate that into their budgets. They want a professional plane? That's a fair amount, but getting a lift off a courier plane would be uncomfortable but frugal.

I've thought about this too much.

It could be that they aren't allowed to as it would be too similar to top gear and they have lawyers telling them they can't infringe on top gears IP.

Enjoyed the third episode (skipped the second, saw bits of it and it looked dreadful), although the gag about Hammond being an annoying little berk did get old quite quickly. He was too annoying!

He has always been an annoying little berk.

I genuinely can't believe how bad episode 2 was. It felt like 3 old geezers fancied having a jolly up after watching a Hollywood action movie or playing COD. You couldn't even suspend disbelief because it all felt 100% staged and the jokes mostly fell flat.

+1 for Ep.2 being terrible.

It's like they've seen those Family Guy episodes where they extend the joke just a bit too far (Peter vs Chicken) and thought they'd replicate it.... except the Family Guy jokes still only go on for a few minutes. Not the majority of an hour-long episode.

Very, very poor.

That will NOT be selling any Prime subscriptions.

Yep, this is completely rubbish and I'm at a stage after just 4 episodes where I'm only watching it because I have Prime and I'm somehow morbidly curious as to how they spent so much money.

I enjoy the fourth episode and I thought the environmental race was rather funny. :shifty:

Episode 3 was an improvement, mainly because of the scenery & just the sheer simplistic joy of seeing an Aston Martin and a Rolls driving around Italy. The visual of watching Clarkson's house explode in 4K HDR was also beyond spectacular.

Hammond playing the 'loud uncouth stupid American in a stupid American car' routine felt very forced though.

3 episodes in it's impossible not to get the feeling that they really are just blowing money for the hell of it, and because there needs to be these Hollywood set-pieces, it's more scripted than ever before.

Some of the jokes are really bad as well. Clarkson getting stuck in a window and presumably getting something stuck up his arse by the enemy; the Romanian voice controlled car...
