I'm not suggesting Doom is better than Goldeneye, I'm stating it.

Goldeneye was awesome, no doubt, but Doom is far better in every respect.

Thats just nonsense.

GoldenEye is as far beyond Doom as Doom was beyond everything else at the time it was released.

Doom is still played and hailed to this day, Goldeneye is all but forgotten by the majority. Plus, Goldeneye's fun was in its multiplayer, the single player became tiresome after a few playthroughs. The odd mission here and there being the exception.

Don't agree? If you could see my face, you'd see a face that doesn't care.

Goldeneye is ace, but as a single player game it has been far surpassed by many games since - not helped by the type of FPS that it is. Doom, however, has only been bettered by the odd game here and there, but for the type of FPS it actually is, there is no better.

I've played 59 of GRcade's top 100 games and practically all of those I haven't are FPS and Sports games.

Yeah, in those few playthroughs before it became tiresome, I managed to finish every mission on every difficulty setting, and obtain every cheat by going through every level speedily.

Over a 3 year period.

I bet you went on a fair few scientist killing sprees, or pedestrian tank-crushing sprees, too. I know I did. Why don't any other games let you do that? They all kick you out of the level.

Doom would have been better if, I don't know...maybe you could talk to the monsters and befriend them?

You agree with him?

Doom has only been better by the odd game (not FPS...game) and there is no better straight up shooter FPS than Doom?

Are you mad?

I started this Doom debate, so I figure I'll add this.

I still play Doom on my PC. I love the strawberry floating game. Doom draws me in like no other FPS does. Obviously from a technical point, it has been bettered, as 16 years is a long time.

However I would, with no sarcasm, say that Doom 2 is my favourite FPS ever.

Agent 47 is breaking new ground in the art of wrongness in this thread. The kind of stuff that would make Herbi blush.

And perhaps you could capture them in a small spherical object that you could put in your pocket.

Make them fight! Actually, if they shoot each other by accident don't they do this anyway?

That's Quake II. And possibly other Quakes, but that's the only one I've played. I used to have loads of fun getting them to scrap on the N64 version.

Good times.

No, you could get them in-fighting in Doom as well.
