THE GRCADE 100

The Idea is to get the members of GR to compile lists of their Top 25 games and send them to me. From these lists I'll work out The GRcade 100. That though is the easy part (apparently) and from there the fun begins. The people of GR will help write essays for each game until we have 100 articles on 100 games and a site to put them on. There'll also be threads on GR which will hopefully get people playing some of the games again.

For the lists though you'll need to state whether they're in any order or not, not all 25 have to be in order though, you can have a Top 5 or 10 then the rest in no order at all as long as you state so in the PM. This thread is for discussion of the whole idea and lists people are working on should they post them.

I'm going to have two different tables when I collect results. One will use the point scheme that gives 7 points the top game, 5 points for two-five, 4 points for six-ten and so on. The other will award each game on the lists one point. I'll make Top 100s from each table and post the games exclusive to each list (ie. all the ones not on both lists) on here so people can decide which list they want.

Some stuff about game series

- The Orange Box isn't one game! Please state either Half Life 2, Portal or Team Fortress.
- Half Life 2 includes Episodes one and two
- Likewise expansion packs go with their original games
- Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Diamond/Pearl all go under the same game.
- Same goes for the Fifa, PES, ISS and Sensible Soccer games.
- Rock Band 1 & 2 fall under the one game
- Guitar Heroes 1, 2 and Legends of Rock will all be under Guitar Hero apart from World Tour which stands alone.
- All Tetris games are lumped together
- Votes for remakes like Resi on the GC and Twin Snakes will count as the originals

Sent my list, had about 5 Final Fantasy games on it. Was hard trying to think of 25 but I think it's a fair idea of me favourites.

Bloody hell, 25 games is going to be tough. Nice idea (haven't done it in a while I don't think), someone should do it for film/show/whatever in off topic.

Anyway, do we have a set date to hand these in by? I'm going to need a good day or two to rack through the contents of my memory to relive those glorious times, otherwise I'd send it in and think "Oh strawberry float! Completely forgot about Point Blank 3!"
