We now move on to the final character building test, before proceeding onto the final chapter. Though those who have died will have to observe. :P

A door swings open at the end of the room. On the floor Dipak, Rufus Roonie and Sir Cora lay dead. Through the door they could hear gunshots, explosions and trumpets blaring.

They step through the door into a warzone. A Confederate flag is rushed past by two men in blue trenchcoats, they jumped down into the trenches. In the trenches they could see Union soldiers fighting the Confederates, each side trying to gain control of the trenches. But the view was surreal. The trenches were huge, going in three or four different directions at each junction. It was like a maze, leading to a huge, red medieval castle stood on a hill, towering the warzone.

"Get away from my castle." A voice growled in the air. "You will never make it through the trenches."

A squad of Union soldiers opened fire on the four remaining heroes, who avoided death by charging into the trenches. They found themselves at a crossroads, in the distance, the towering castle lowered it's drawbridge.

Stick together, or split up to reach the castle. But think about your choice, do not rush it.

This is an individual choice.

A- Take the left trench
B- Take the middle trench
C- Take the right trench

Oh and once you have made your choice, there is no going back to change it.

Middle would usually seem like a good choice, but not only am I dead, my judgement is gooseberry fool.

I would guess that middle leads to the front door and hence will be most heavilly guarded.

"I wouldn't go right if I were you. But what do I know, I'm only observing from the heavens, which some may say is a brilliant vantage point." Rufus' voice echoed around the soldier's minds.

"Well I don't think that's the right way to go, and I don't want to be stuck in the middle; so I'll go for the only option that's left"

Irene said to no-one in particular.

You have all chosen wisely, mostly.

Irene, Ricardo, and Maury decided to take the left trench whilst Drumstick went right, each of them helping themselves to blood covered rifles.

Drumstick ran around the corner straight into the path of Union forces. Rifles went off.

Drumstick with his amazing agility managed to scarper back around the corner before the bullets could hit him. He joined the others at the left trench. Saved by the birthday.

The left trench was fairly long, littered with dead Confederate soldiers. Up ahead was the castle.

They sprinted down the long narrow trench, bombs went off. Blood sprayed.

When they reached the end they found themselves at another junction.

Three trenches left, right and middle. The left trench leads directly to the castle but has been taken by Union soldiers, ten of them. The middle trench leads into a Confederate storage area captured by three Union soldiers, the right trench seems relatively safe, but leads away from the castle.

This is a majority vote.

A- Take the trench direct to the castle, and fight your way through the Union forces. (Battle)
B- Take the middle trench and loot the Confederate storage area (Treasure haul)
C- Take the right trench that is safe but leads away from the castle.

We've got our weapons to do battle with still, right?

I'd say battle, but I thought I was already dead?

I'd go treasure too, a battle with some real incentive

It seemed Ricardo was busy observing the war whilst the others made the choice to sprint down the middle trench to the storage area. Ricardo followed, thirsty for gold.

Inside were three Union soldiers. Maury hid behind cover, popping out to fire his american rifle at them. "What the **** is this?" He growled as the gun failed to function. "How do I reload?"

Drumstick threw his rifle to the ground and grabbed a six shooter from a dead confederate. He fired four shots before the chamber clicked. Two Union soldiers fell.

Irene sprinted around cover to the last soldier and engaged him, launching a fist. The soldier quickly drew a knife, but was pounded to the ground by the unholy fist of Irene.

They found themselves surrounded by chests and barrels and wooden cupboards full of treasures collected by the Confederacy. Choose one to take with you.

Confessions of a Confederate Coward: Battle plans
A beautifully carved Meerchaum pipe.
A small padlocked chest
A bag of silver 1700's coins
A golden blood stained chalice
Winchester rifle
A collection of Incan ceramics
A chunk of mined gold

The end is nigh people.
