It seems strange there is not a best writing or storytelling award, it's like saying that contributes nothing to the experience. Yet we have had some awesome contenders this year, like Portal 2, The Witcher 2 and Deus Ex HR. Also, Dragon Age 2 (for all it's failings, it had a very novel and innovative story. How often to you see a game following a three part tragedy in framed narrative?).

This is the same reason I don't take the VGAs seriously. They have an award for "biggest badass" but none for the best story. :fp:

Decided to change my 'best audio' decision from Battlefield 3 to Deus Ex. I love the soundtrack so much.

Yes, it's brilliant. Perfectly sets the mood throughout the whole game, which is what a good gaming soundtrack should do. A lot of people tend to laud big bombastic pieces like the theme music of games (Skyrim obviously haveing the best main theme this year), but it's the stuff that you barely notice, if done right, and may not seem that great when taken out of context, that truly adds to the experience.

I checked my Xbox Live profile before voting and the only games of this year that I've played are LA Noire (PS3), F1 2011, Battlefield 3, FIFA 12 (housemate's) and Skyrim. I probably shouldn't bother voting given the dearth of games there.

How did you do that

I'm not sure I can vote this year. There's been a tonne of games released but most fall in the 'average' category. Still, I suppose I could weed out those average games that are better than the rest.

Last year wasn't there a plan to deliver the results in a podcast? That'd be cool to do again

Just finished mine now based on what i've actually got around to playing. The only fighter i've played is Street Fighter 3D and I didn't like that so my vote goes for...

Best Fighter: Star Wars: The Old Republic (PVP)
