Simple. The Last Of Us was my favourite game overall because of how much I love the multiplayer but I enjoyed the single player/adventure of Zelda more.

So basically what you are saying is that you are insane? Glad we cleared that one up.

I wouldn't call you insane because you preferred the SP of Zelda to The Last of Us, but putting The Last of Us as your favourite game of the year because of the MP is just nuts.

Why is it nuts? Gears of War was my game of 2006/2007 and that certainly wasn't down to the single player. Is it insane to think that games are a social experience as much as they are a solo one nowadays?

It's by far my most played game this year. We still play it every sunday on here. Have you actually played it for more than 5 minutes to make this judgement?

[Edit] A trophy comparison with you on the game makes for interesting reading. You haven't even completed the single player  And you haven't gotten the "knowing the basics" trophy which requires you to be on the winning team of ONE multiplayer match. Have you even played the game at all?

The multiplayer for TLoU can easily tip it into someone's goty.
It's superb and has a mostly decent userbase.

Yeah, he clearly hasn't even played it. I had a quick look for posts of his in the official Last of Us topic and he hasn't posted in there since before the game was released.

And I'M the one who's insane.

Entry form's looking a bit thin this year. I've spent at least 2½ months of 2013 playing nothing but XCOM, either Enemy Unknown or Within. Add to that the significant amount of time I was playing The Last of Us for and I haven't had the time to play much of anything released this year. There's still so much I'm still to play, mostly smaller games on PC. Got a few bits of DLC to get on as well.

I'm not late.

Stare directly at the sun. Good for you. Vitamin D.

An odd year for me. Late to the PS3, so I've been catching up on lots of its exclusives and PS+ offerings. The loss of lovefilm games has also hit my spending somewhat, and the number of games played.

Great year though. For me, having played all of the uncharted series, and the last of us, naughty dog are so so good.

Batman was also incredible, such a good game and a welcome return to the current generation of batman games, under rocksteady ownership.

Honorable mention to splinter cell blacklist, also very good.
