Contrary to what this whole generation, combined with the press and the likes of Digital Foundry, has been ramming down people's throats there's more to visuals than just pixel count.

BotW is lovely looking game. Slick, clean and beautifully presented. Personally I voted for HZD, but BotW deserves to win equally as much. Two different art styles, but both visually stunning.

Its a visually stunning game, surely the fact its doing it on less powerful hardware makes it all the more impressive.

Disappointed that noone else voted for Senua's Sacrifice in Best Audio but I suppose most people never got around to it. Or, you know, it would have won easily.

Easily

At least I come away with a well earned sense of superiority.

Damn, I kept meaning to vote on this but never had the time to write down my important* thoughts!

Still, glad Nintendo cleaned up - 2017 really was there year! I'd have swapped Zelda out for Mario in the GOTY category, but it was a tight battle between the two for me.

One game I'm personally sad didn't get more love during 2017 was Arkane's Prey - that was probably the only game I'd have considered alongside Mario and Zelda for GOTY.

* of zero value :D

Nintendomination!

Great to see BOTW gettign so many plaudits though, in my book its one of the greatest games ever and deserves the praise. Im looking forward to a Switch playthrough later in the year.

Not had chance to have much more than a fleeting glance on here lately so I never got round to voting, however based on what I have played I totally agree with the choices!

A great year to be a gamer, one of the best I can remember in a while and I've still got some of the biggest games (including Hellblade and Horizon) to play at some point in 2018!

I can't find a general GOTY discussion thread but I think this is close enough for me to plug this video in?
