No 'twists' involving kicking out the man who was going to win it in the final round after weeks of effort... [/bitter]

Seriously though I like the idea of teams and extending the early rounds, gives more people a chance to play for longer. I suppose it depends how many people are up for it but even 3 man teams would be pretty good and the amount of people that entered this year would make 6 of those.

Maybe some form of audience participation too to keep the thread interesting for the punters and ex contestants (Zenigame) though I don't know what.

DML used to have some rounds where the forum at large got to vote on entries and stuff like that, but it doesn't happen very often anymore.

I think those twists were too much.

I don't think that participation in the contest should be decided like that. At a push, okay, the one to bring a player back in is probably alright, but kicking someone out is too harsh. As I said at the time, it does discriminate against the favourite too much. It wasn't Drummy's fault, as any of the other players would have seen you as the logical one to kick out.

The problem with audience - or eliminated-contestant - participation is getting the balance right. It needs to be the right kind of participation. Imagine how much worse the outcry would be if one of them got their hands on a DML TWIST! and could knock someone out?

It would have to be quite a trivial thing available to them. Like shaking up the teams, picking a question category etc. Saying that, I think my Eggheads idea could use a team of 5 ex-contestants quite well - scoring individual competitors on how they do against a panel. The informed minority beating the ignorant majority, if you will; the mighty Guru even able to beat 5 "lesser" ex-contestants.

There's a definitely a part they can play.

I'd like to see a Guru invitational, where we make a Guru eggheads team of myself, Parksey, Jay, Devlin and apparently Falcon, and take on five challengers. I even have a person chart on who we can be:

Kevin: Jay
Daphne: Parksey
CJ: Devlin(sorry mate!)
Chris: Falcon
Judith: Deadpool

We could take on teams with names like "Always the Bridesmaid," led by Drumstick, "The Gear Grinders," led by Zenigame, or even Steve's mighty "Mod Squad," who have the secret weapon of the banhammer.

I'd be up for that in between now and GGGCIX...

No eliminations. Make it like a league table. Everyone getting points for tasks competed. Person with the most points after a set number of tasks is the winner. Non-submittals would see you losing points.

Or mibs after the set amount of tasks the players with the top 3 or 4 points face a Live Final to give it that tense feel.

Because being eliminated right at the start sucks. :x :x :x

Also less writing.

Bagsy my own team.

It'll be the most Moe team ever to appear on Guruheads

Well it kind of did - he turned down the offer to record his best ever finish of third.
