It was also probably the hardest of the four. Unlike the usual picture rounds in the early parts of the quiz, the time limit meant you couldn't pour over them in much detail.

A Connect Wall would be good too. Each person could have had ten minutes to do one.

The longer I play, the more I like to think up alternatives to fastest finger first, as tense as that is.

I am somewhat relieved you didn't also try and find a picture for "anal". Though the picture of Ronald used for my exit does look like he might be partaking in it.

I will hit you with a few of my ideas in a day or so. It would be a shame if you didn't run... something in its place.

Likewise, would be nice to see a few new games appear in OT. We tend to only have AYAW reappear every 6 months or so.

I will say it again - bring back The Mole.or Deception! Even if one was A.I.'s...

Ideas are in place - I have big ideas for the evolution of a gaming contest - but I make no plans for now as I am moving out! Hurrah!

Hit me with some of the ideas for a gaming contest if you want? When you have time.

When I am back on my laptop, I will send you mine.

When you look round the site, there are still loads of prominent members who have never played a GGGC, so it would be nice to get some of them involved with a new competition. Perhaps many of them think we are a cliquey "GGGC Gang" and pass us by a little bit.

Dala's reign of terror will never be over. We will all have to bend the knee... forever.

A menacing thought. Bring on GGGC XI!

Just caught up. Really good final I thought. Blankety Blank was a bit harsh but it did give us the gem of Drugs and Anal. I was rooting for Parksey so I was sad to see him go out in the first round.

Dan losing the life fairly early on was a good thing I felt as it kept the contest fairly tense.

I really enjoyed all the Only Connect love this year. Great show and it was nice to see it pop up. You did some work on it didn't you DML?

Then there was Blockbusters. I guess it's not a GGGC final without some controversy and it was very gracious of Dan to agree to the re-asking of the Atari question. I know when it first cropped up I noticed it wasn't correct but I just assumed Dala would have said false to cover himself. When it was initially allowed to stand I thought Dan could have sewn up the whole thing and for a minute or two it certainly looked that way. But in the end I have to agree with it being done over. I'd hoped that Dan would have won but Dala is a phenomenal player and easily deserving of the win.

Sad to see GGGC going. In its current form I think this was the right time to end it. It's been an excellent addition to the forum over the years and I can't think of anyone that could have done half as good a job at it as DML. While most of us are happy to just read and post on the forum DML has actively made this a better place for us all and GGGC was a massive part of that. So my honest thanks to you DML. You've given us some amazing times and I hope you stick around as much as you can.

Real life has gotten to us all over the years and it's the reason I was never able to properly defend my own title these past two contests. Priorities change and situations prevent us doing what we love to do from time to time. I will say that as I watched this years contest I was more and more annoyed at myself for not getting involved again. Anyway that's enough love from me. I'm just really proud to have been a part of it at all. It gave me my one proper stamp on the history of this forum and for that I'm eternally grateful (I did love that GRcade logo I got when I won).

Once more, well done Dala. Bad luck Dan, you put up a fantastic fight and you'd have been a more than worthy Guru.

Whenever and in whatever form GGGC returns, I'll be there.

the only improvements i can think of is if the blankety blank questions were less open and the panel had stricter rules to keep it game focused. and that the speed rounds were played in the chatbox like the semi final was. few times i was so close to posting first but missing out to dan. in the chatbox it would remove the need to refresh/select text box/enter text/hit submit and keep it even closer.

other than that it was great and i had a lot of fun.

Ironically the Blankety Blank questions were genuine Blankety Blank show questions, just slightly modified for gamers - it was the guys that decided to go wild with it...

Am I right in thinking that for Santa Monica / Atlanta, both were right, but you didn't expect there to be two correct answers?

Regards Blankety Blank… I did not 'go wild', I simply answered the questions as requested. We were asked to answer the questions instinctively and not to spend time thinking of the best/funniest answer. To answer them I simply read them out loud and whatever came out of my mouth for the blanks when reading them was what I sent back.

I wasn't blaming anyone - it just shows gamers have a wilder imagination then celebrities on the TV show. The questions were almost exactly Blankety Blank questions, and they don't get minutes to think about appropriate responses.

And how did hardly anyone say 'Force' for the Zelda one? I'm glad at least Dark Donk said it!

Well - yes and no. Santa Monica wasn't techincally a full E3 event , it was scaled down and called something slightly different (E3 Media and Business Summit), but I didn't expect either player to say it, but you both did. Far too picky to reject the answer so I accepted it.
