There will be no 'quickfire' rounds outside of the Grand Final, which tends to take place in the evening. So yes its absolutely viable for someone who has a full time job.

You tend to write a bazillion words about how cool and baller you are, so I don't think 300 words admitting you actually like games on a games forum is going to do your image too much harm.
The third contest was by far the biggest at the point is launched, a full year after the first contest, and now the contest had a decent history behind it. The contest also grew to contain 15 contestants. Three players had already pre qualified alongside The Games Guru Vince who almost decided not to compete a third time. The first to qualify was Raze who rather bizarrely (heres one for fact fans) qualified due to winning 'I'm A Forumite: Get Me Out Of Here'. The other two were Crimson Reaper and Falcon's twin brother Mazzacre who qualified for winning through 'Do You Guru 2?' Two other competitors - Wasson and 'future Future staff' Pell would also qualify through normal auditions. However 'Do You Guru's' dramatic twist was that it would permanantly ban the loser from ever attempting to play ever again. Gamesmasta/GM finished last - and has never returned since.
The likes of Foolish Mortal, sntaa (otherwise known as Cora) jeebus and Dav2k wouldn't return this time - but plasticcoated, tnman, toxic and Falcon would, along with runner up rinks. The contest also saw the debuts of Hero Of Canton, and also the popular Tiarny, who was relatively new to the forum at that time.
Straight away a twist was thrown in as two mysterious entries appeared alongside the other thirteen, and straight away the contestants knew that two new players were in the mix. After Task Two it was revealed that they were JamieJ and Eighthours. Eighthours was bound to stoke things up - as he and Invincible at that time were having the biggest console based flame wars you could possibly imagine on the forums.
The early stages saw a few suprises, with tnman being eliminated, and Wasson nearly pushing rinks out of the contest in what was then the competitions biggest elimination 'Endgame'. Wasson faced Endgame instead as well as JamieJ, plasticcoated failed to live up to his favourite tag - and Tiarny only just survived by winning the popular vote.
This would also be the contest that forced Eighthours and Invincible to work together, and in that same task - a game innovation task 'Snap! DS' a made up perephrial for the Nintendo DS was created. The only problem was a Dutch website got hold of the 'news' thinking it was the real deal and the game went viral, appearing on no less then eleven sites. Gamesradar would then make a withering apology for the 'annoying troublemakers on their forums'. Charming.
The contest also involved an ill-advised 'CPU Smash Bros Melee' round called 'Colleseum' which saw Falcon automatically qualify for the final.
The final, was an absolute classic - and so well set up. Semi Final 1 saw Invincible go up against Raze, and Semi Final 2 saw rinks take on Falcon. The final was based all on gameshows, and the Invincible/Raze final was based on Blockbusters. Possibly the greatest moment in the contests history - its Frazier/Ali moment. Invincible defending his title got off to a terrible start, but in an epic comeback that swung to and fro and after eighteen questions, Vince won through - although obviously a bit drained from getting into the final showdown. In the other semi, Falcon sprung a suprise beating rinks with a fair amount of ease, and it was up to him to prevent Vinces 3-in-a-row.
In the end, a Family Fortunes round saw Falcon get off to a fantastic start, and Vince never really got back in the game. In the final question based on beat-em-ups, Vince guessed Streetfighter whilst Falcon guessed Tekken. At that time, Falcon was more on the pulse of gamers, and won the title of Games Guru!
The next contest would be a bigger, yet far more bitter affair...
Does anyone still have a copy of that Banjo Kazooie video I did? I deleted it off the face of the earth after my defeat but I wish I could see it again now.

Tragic, we would all like to see that again!
Fiz- tasks tend to take a couple of hours to submit, and tasks appear every few days.
