A fantastic contest by all - Dark Ritual you are a thoroughly deserving runner-up - your form throughout considering this was your first competition was utterly outstanding. You are brilliant - and Devlin and your team-mates should be very proud!

However it is a great pleasure and indeed honour to finally hand the GGGC title and the title of Games Guru to Dalagonash - a man who is undoubtedly passionate about gaming - and therefore surely a perfect Games Guru? Its guys like Dalagonash I set this contest up for - and you deserve it. Thank you for all the support of the contest over the years - (before and after I played SFII badly in your house unwittingly) - this title is the least you deserve!

Thank you all for making this a wonderful wonderful contest - its you guys who make it after all. Three cheers for Dala!

I have a little something up my mane to end the contest, but for now I will say thank you to all the team captains - to Jay for his incredible artwork - and to all of you for making it what it was and buying into it all.

Thank you all! :3

Cheers man, but you were much better than I was. My strength throughout was really in the creative tasks. You deserved it tonight and throughout.

So Team Drumstick are the new Games Gurus?

Well done team, I couldn't have done it without you.

A big thanks to DML too. My first time in this has been great fun and you've put up with a lot of my moaning. Kudos for running something incredibly fun over the last few weeks. :D

Thank you DML. It's been a tumultuous GGGC but one I've thoroughly enjoyed. I shall wear my crown with pride and you know I'll be back to defend it next time. Now that I've finally got my mitts on it, I don't want to let it go! Creativity, knowledge, shouting, luck, skill, it's all come into play and been tested, and while some weren't fans of all of it (I for one will now hate Erasure until the day I die) I had a fantastic time. Perhaps most worryingly, this contest proved that there is some formidable fresh blood in the wings...

But ultimately thank you, DML, for running a brilliant contest . :D You can play Street Fighter II awfully in my house anytime.

I totally do this thing called StreetPass UK and it's real good like.

A fun year :) Maybe it's just variance or the sheer number of questions in last year's quickfire and shootout, but I think I knew a much, much higher percentage of the answers in this one. Did anyone else feel the same?

Did you read last year? It makes for excellent reading.

I fully believe that when you're playing you can have brain farts a lot more easily. I mean, you didn't get Tetris :P

I did, which made me think I wouldn't have much luck this time out. My knowledge of games doesn't extend much past what I've ever played as I don't really read news sites or magazines- so my knowledge of anything that isn't on PC or 360 is quite hampered.

The Tetris one bugged me because I knew it was worded that way for some reason and couldn't figure out why. My initial thought was Dark Souls, in-case the guy who raged (was it Chalky?) might have cut it into 7 pieces.

Man, I'd forgotten about last year until you said that. :x

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

THE GGGC IX CLOSING CEREMONY

Hope I have the right level of epic set up here. I hope you all enjoyed yourself - I'm pooped.

Until next year then - when you'll have the chance to get your paws on that title all over again - DML IS OFFLINE.

I'm not being funny here, I enjoyed it, but in parts that was the most cringeworthy video I've seen in a long time. Your accent when saying some of the stuff was brilliantly bad.

EDIT: We all know the true competition already ended when Team Devlin won everything.

But again, great contest. Team bit was great, I was very happy to win two tasks and do well in both creative ones. Winning the Game Design one was really awesome for me. Gave me a lot of ideas for new forum games too. Hopefully I'll be able to get into the next one...maybe Team Devlin can reunite, eh?

I think the structure of the contest really worked well this year. It was destined to be teams beforehand - and thus it delivered. U would always change it up next time, but I learnt a lot from this contest for next time. I'll always listen to feedback - in fact much of the feedback from VIII did really shape IX so please feel free to tell me what should stay, what should go etc...
