I'm out :(

Buyer of our house came over yesterday to measure up the windows and wanted to see how quickly the radiators heated up the house so had to put it on.... don't think trying to explain to the new buyers of your house I can't, because I'm in a battle royale on a video game forum, was going to cut it

I think this is an allowable exception, like having the system serviced. So long as you didn’t use it as an excuse to then leave it on.

The problem is, you're still receiving the benefit of the heat either way. Probably grounds for a steward's enquiry.

I think this is acceptable. Unless you left it on for more than 5 minutes after they left.

Nah was turned off straight away once they were happy with it. Had it on for all of 10 mins.

We use the water from the hot tap to save wear and tear on the cold tap.

The OP clearly states "The premise is simple, be the last person to put your heating on.
This will rely on honesty, so post in the thread once you've put your heating on"

As it's not my heating and none of us put it on, I am assuming I am still in. But it might require a ruling from the court of GR.

If it was up to me I would say you are still in.

But it's not, and you're out

I think using heating that somebody else has to pay for is an acceptable loophole. FREE HEAT!

"They".

Hmmn. Would this mean... "you"?

It would seem rather extravagant to go to the lengths of putting one's house on the market and having viewers round just to turn the heating on, but...

No! This was an attempt to warm up and get away with it! How many more people will be around and "ask to heat the whole house up"?!?

I'd disagree with the ruling of other people here. You're away from home and the heating came on automatically, I'd say you're still in.

I'm still in at the moment, it's still too warm to be putting the heating on.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

Is this a passage from your upcoming detective novel Jawa?

Moggy would still be in if the heating had come on at his home and he wasn't there, but alas that was not the case. He knowingly enjoyed warmth at his second residence. As far as I can tell no efforts were made to isolate the radiators or block up the boiler flue.

As Lord Commander of the heating thread I shall give Moggy a pass on this one.

Next time however, he shall be neutered.

I thank you for your generosity Lord Commander.

However, I think karma has made its own decision. We've got back to the house and there's a power cut in the area. So we've not even got the slight heat from a lightbulb to warm us.
