Alexisonfire just didnt grab me at all, absolutely no chance in this strong company. Gone.
Also gone is Linkin Park. I'll be wholeheartedly supporting animated videos throughout the contest, I just don't think its not a very good video, and its up against iconic stuff.
Metallica's One is a very famous video, but now I've watched it, I'm unsure what the fuss is about. When up against, again a tough group, I find it hard not to eliminate it.
Knights Of Cydonia again I hadn't seen, but HOW GREAT IS THAT? What a brilliant video. An inspired nomination by someone, and I think that could be the dark horse for this competition, it deserves support for being so clever and well made.
Coffee and TV is the best Blur video, and one that people didn;t stop talking about for months. It suits the song perfectly and is adorable - and DOESN'T use CGI! It really is a guy in a milk suit running about. As good as Muse.
I'm also going to put through Feeder, because its cleverer than it makes out. Its a brilliant song, and the video is just perfect for it. Its another video that people didn't stop speaking about, and its simplicity is its strength. It may not go all the way, but I think it deserves another round.
Which leaves Radiohead vs Nirvana, a horrible decision. The Radiohead video is brill, but its not iconic, which the Nirvana video is...
So I've gone with Smells Like Teen Spirits. Its not a clever video, but then thats kind of the point. A video that launched a new generation, a new genre and a new 'can't give a gooseberry fool' attitude.
