Seems like where I live got very little of the brunt of this. My bins fell over, next doors for sale sign fell over. That's about it.

It seems like the south got it very bad. 3 dead :dread:

Phone networks are down and we have no power at home, my father in law also had his shed crushed by a tree but the neighbours trampoline must have been drilled into the earths core cos it didnt move an inch. Also, my daughter is sick so my wife has taken a day off to look after her, with no way to cook or watch tv. Im so much happier to be in the office than at home right now!

Assessing the damage here, the trellis arch in the garden has completely collapsed, couple of trees have fallen down the road a bit, and we've got a few broken pots - one pot has a piece of tree branch stuck through it, lol.

banana splits like that wreck my head.

Three people dead, hundreds of millions worth of damage done and countless videos/photos of the storm causing serious damage doing the rounds on social media but because it was relatively ok in this clowns part of Dublin it was all just a big conspiracy to make Varadkar look good.

Prick is a danger to society because they are discrediting the weather warnings that undoubtedly saved lifes yesterday.

Varadkar sounds like a character from The Witcher.

banana splits like that are probably one step away from holocaust denial.

You have all this documented evidence of this and it's pretty clear it was a bad storm. Nah mate, overplayed by the media!!!1!!!!!

It starts with a big storm that a weather forecaster gets wrong.

Then the national broadcaster gets accused of bias.

Then climate change is declared to be a conspiracy.

Then people tell you that you are sick of experts.

Before you know it you are the newest state in Trump's fascist USA.

All this took around 30 years in the UK. Stay away from storms Ireland, stay away.

I'm in Meath by the coast and it wasn't too windy, still not blind to the fact that the south of the country got battered tho.

I woke up yesterday looking out at my garden thinking I was wearing my rose tinted brown sunglasses. It looked exactly like that.

My mums been terrified of Trump and Kim Jong Un attacking each other for a while, so when she text me yesterday about the weird sky, I told her it was Kim attacking.

She didn’t believe me, but she did say that it crossed her mind when she first looked out and saw the sky.

I think most people who escaped the worst of it have the same attitude as you and are happy the storm didn't cause huge damage in their area.

I fully expected blackouts in this area. When it became clear that wasn't going to happen my reaction was "thank strawberry float for that" not "crooked meeja at Galway Bay FM, spreading Met Eireanns bullshit".

Funny, it brought up the same thing with my mum. Really the last thing my mum needs to worry about is a nuclear holocaust, she's needed a new hip for about a year, so that's another thing to contend with in consoling her.

Yeah but if we do have an Apocalypse, she won't need to worry about that hip.
Every nuclear cloud has a silver lining.
