:dread: :dread: :dread: :dread: :dread:

Got my results back for my TMA for T320 and I only got 45. Pass is 30 I think for a TMA so I still recieved a pass for it but I've not recieved a score less than 70 since I started. It was an essay and I'm really, really bad at writing them anyway, but apparently I didn't answer the questions well enough despite putting hours upon hours in trying to make sure I did so. Oh god that's made me feel awful. Hopefully there's no more essays or I'm strawberry floated. :dread: :dread:

EDIT: Just checked and thankfully the second TMA seems to be going back to what every other TMA I've done since I started has been. More practical stuff (this time using XML) and explaining a) what I've done and b) what problems I've had.

Sounds like you could use some study skills support but you probably don't get that.

I had tonnes of help writing essays at uni even though I didn't use it much, I'm a bit too good at physically writing so ramble on for ages so it was more about reigning it in and focusing on the question.

It helps if you make sure every single sentence counts towards your question and is backed up with evidence. You can write short and quick essays that score highly.

He gave me loads of advice in the marking, it seems I completely missed the ball on what the question wanted as it used some terminology that had a few different meanings throughout the course material, it was to do with the industry value chain, but I based my entire answer off of the Porter version of the industry value chain. :fp:

Well, that sucks. Always try to ask questions if you're not sure or notice any discrepancies like that while writing.

Got 51/100 and 56/100 on my last two exams I took which AFAIK are my last two OU exams. I had a feeling I came out of those exams a little to confident with how it went considering how badly my revision for them went.

All in all these past few months have not been going well at all for my uni stuff. Hopefully I can turn it around in time to finish the course.

I don't have anxiety issues and they make me anxious. :dread:

I am never doing another exam again after these two. If I fail them then the resits can strawberry float off.

M363 and M362 were mine and they were my last two exams. Final two are the compulsary module with an EMA, the one I'm doing now with an EMA and I'm going to do my final 30 credits as a level 1 course since that only has an EMA and covers the basics of topics I've already learnt about so I can skip through it :shifty:

I don't suffer from anxiety issues I think from a medial standpoint but strawberry float do they make me nervous and flare up my IBS :x

I need to spend the next month plotting chapters of my thesis to write them early next year. The goal is to get the PhD blasted out in the next twelve months.

Failed my CCNA again x_x

I was much closer to passing this time and as far as I can tell it was only a few questions that really let me down. Fairly certain I got all the practical ones correct so that's good and afaik the ones I got wrong were the ones I wasn't super clued up on. Oh well, gotta go back and do it again and this time I'll definately pass. Annoying that it's so expensive (my Dad's paying for it for me) but such is life. It was always going to be hard when I'm not in a position where I work on this stuff every day.

EDIT: Went back and checked some of the ones I remember being unsure about and in all of them the second answer I was picking between when I wasn't sure was always the right one. Had I picked differently I would've passed. Ah welll, better to actually commit the right answers to memory rather than pass out of chance. I'd narrowed them down to the last two answers (which I got wrong) through educated guessing but still, gives me something to learn for next time.

Netflow. Netflow is annoying as hell to remember everything for :p

So I have 2 modules left and one is going to have to wait until October next year to start (but it'll be a level 1 module which covers the basics of what I already know). The one starting January is the IT Project which I gather is a dissertation. I can either do a research topic, an evaluation topic or a development topic (aka develop some software to fit a problem based on stuff I've learnt in a previous module) and now it's led to me wondering if what I want to do is too simple.

I want to build a database system which can help streamers who run tournaments for games or in this case a game specifically as that seems to fit the specifcations of what I should be allowed to do and I've technically done it before although not for Uni and it was basic so I've got that knowledge to work with. I won't be able to find out until mid January if I can do it, but fingers crossed I can as that'd make my life much easier.

strawberry float stats, man. I have an exam in January called "Random Processes in Physics", which we have to do as part of the theoretical physics option, which is basically just probability. Every lecture he solved meaningless integrals constantly, and I still have absolutely no idea what is happening. I really can't stand statistics, and having a very bad lecturer just made it worse (and he really was bad, it's not just me being bitter).

Need any help, Tweep? I can only help with the actual stats we for-real use in theoretical physics (which, depending on your syllabus, might be very different to the stuff you're learning!) but you're welcome to PM me any time.

Oh, and since this is the HE thread: it looks like I might be doing a PhD in theoretical particle physics. Funding interview in January, fingers crossed!

Good luck Karl! You'll do great. I have a couple of friends who are doing physics PhDs in various fields, including one nuclear physicist.

On the subject of PhDs I had a six month review today and couldn't upload any of the supporting documents for it until last night. Somehow managed to get a pass(the best possible mark) and they're happy with the progress I've made since my last review. The work begins now though, I need to actually start writing my thesis ASAP.

Also looks like I'll be tutoring first year history students from next year at some point. God help us all. :slol:

I might be sending you a PM in the next month, thanks! I need to have a proper look through the course (I've neglected it a fair bit so far), but I might have to take you up on that, cheers.

And well done on that! Theoretical particle physics sounds tough to get into, so best of luck with that interview man, though I'm sure you'll be fine!
