And after staying up till after 2am to finish, I have a 9am start at work tomorrow. Curses.

Congratulations man!! And Rightey - isn't an integral part of academia claiming to have read full texts when in reality you're just citing 9 words from the abstract? If not, I've been doing it all wrong :shifty:

I'm absolutely shattered at the mo. The 06:15-17:00 days have temporarily paused in-between study data collections but now doing 08:30-18:00 and 21:00-00:00. Deadline for all my upgrade documents is Monday. Currently attempting to write up one chapter per day :dread: Tuesday, Weds and Thurs next week will be comparatively tame. I'm completely off alcohol at the moment because it clouds my PhD brain and I have a few half marathons and a marathon coming up... and I seem to be craving it more than ever

Don't worry, I'm half-way through my Ph.D. and can count the number of papers I've read in full on my fingers. Skimmed & cherry-picked hundreds, of course, but actually sat down and read properly? Nah. :slol:

I own 40 books on my subject and have never, and will never, read them all the way through.

I have to make a presentation for my comprehensive exams and go over everything I've learned during my PhD, and relate it to our programs 4 main points. I have 3 down, but the 4th one of Social Diversity is... challenging. I feel like whatever I say just sounds like some cheap jargon about addressing issues and making the world a better place. :?

Somebody just completed their PhD entitled "'The Spirituality of Anorexia: Towards Healing and Liberation of the Goddess in Every Woman" at the University.

I mentioned this in tcrt, but I'll say it again here for posterity, I passed my comprehensive exams, next stage is the thesis proposal. I went to one right after my exam finished just to see what it was like and the guy got chewed out for his title not being accurate enough. That doesn't bode well for me as my presentation was just titled "A presentation for the ages" :slol:

I actually prefer the less formal title as you get the main info in the abstract anyways, but I guess I will have to be boring when I put the real title together.

Congrats Mini E, welcome to the club :toot:

Also, I've become a professor :toot: :toot:

I will be teaching... not my specialty, but rather something that I've had some experience in at work... Report writing, and how to use MS Office. :slol:
