Wasn't a fan of the new Jay-Z album at all, but then again I've always thought he was massively overrated and can never see what the fuss is about outside of a handful of songs.

I'm not a fan of Kendrik Lamar slow, plodding R&B stuff, but I like his voice. Of the songs I've heard from him (which is relatively little), I much prefer his "proper rap" stuff and things like his verses on Eminem's Love Game:



What songs/albums are similar to his style there? I strawberry floating love that.

Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City is probably the most lauded hip-hop album since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Not posted anything in here for a while. Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap is appearing on quite a few EOY lists despite not being an 'official' release. You can still get it online for free here. It's alright but IMHO I don't think it would have been as well released if it wasn't free.
