This is the threat where people discuss their illnesses, sickness and personal experiences of things going wrong to their body!

Need a diagnosis? This is the place to get it!

Currently, I have shingles.

It is driving me insane. Had it for about 10 days now and it still feels like I've stuck my head in a bush of stinging nettles. Can't sleep, feel flu-y and have slept more this week then I have in an entire month.

Anyone else had this?

PAIN RATING: Constant 6 - Uncomfortable.

I've had an abscess in my gum since Tuesday. It caused my gum and right cheek to swell to a huge size and the whole right side of my face to droop like I've had a stroke or something. On Wednesday the dentist had to drill a hole up through the bottom of one of my molar teeth into the gum above it to make a hole for the pus and blood to drain out and reduce the swelling. By far the most painful thing that has ever happened to me and I never ever want to experience it again.

I have to plug the hole every 12 hours with a new piece of cotton to soak up the pus that's slowly coming down and on Monday they're gonna fill the tooth back up. :dread:

9. I've never cried because of physical pain in my adult life before, but I did for this. It was that bad.

Feel like I've developed IBS recently. Seem to always be on the toilet while I'm at home. Had food poisoning twice this year in quick succession & I don't think my bowels ever quite recovered.

I had shingles a few years back, on my lower back/side of my torso. Wasn't too bad, don't remember being off school/college with it.

I had what seemed like shingles around my chest, though the doctor called it "activated chickenpox". Don't know if they're the same thing.

Had salmonella a few weeks ago. Wasn't as bad as everyone makes out, though the worst night of it was one of the worst nights of my life.

What's been up with me:
Mumps
Meckel's diverticulum and intussusception of the bowel (This one almost killed me). The bowel surgery also left me with mild IBS, although I'm better with that sucker cut out of me. I also have a sexy scar on my abs.
Broken Collar Bone, Metatarsal in each foot, Little Finger, Ring Finger, Big Toe, Two ribs, right wrist.
Ocular Migraines. I can control it by avoiding salty foods and drinking enough water, when it goes off I see mental flashing lights and colours.

Apart from that I rarely get 'sick'. Colds and flue don't affect me and I don't get random illness.

Had shingles on my back and wasn't allowed in school. Normally fine, except it was my final week so missed out on some of the goodbye stuff.

My dad had shingles earlier this year. He's in his sixties so it really knocked him on his arse for a few weeks.

I've had a cold this week. I get one in the last week of September every year - I've not even been near students this time!
