After a quick bit of searching I think that's volume 31 (Joining the Fray) I want...? I'll do the smart thing this time and buy 'em one at a time. They seem quite reasonably priced on Amazon UK. Even in pb form.

Last chapter of volume 32 onwards according to wiki.

I was surprised how cheap the volumes are on Amazon, £3-6 is a bargain compared to what you have to pay for some series.

Thank you for checking for me!

Still on HxH 139

 at Killua addressing Alluka by her preferred gender. He's such a good boy.

 at his mother's reaction to the wish. Should have seen that coming.

Is this show actually any good? I've just seen some clips and all I can think of is has anime gone too far?

It's nothing special, but not offensive either. Extremely middle of the road.

I remember there was a show where they had dog eared girls and I just couldn't enjoy it. I don't like cats at all but there is something cute about their small pointy ears, when you have big floppy dog ears it just doesn't work. I guess horse ears are kind of like that so it might work, I might have to give this a look.

I've decided to watch the entire Gundam series from the very beginning of the '79 anime. It's going to take strawberry floating ages but 4 episodes in and I'm quite enjoying it.

Started watching My Hero Academia series 3 a few days ago and now I'm all caught up. Damn, it's been pretty good so far. Series 1 was tight, and series 2 was also pretty good but I felt it was more up and down.

12 episodes out so far but of course episode 11 gave me more to think about:

I was expecting All Might to die. Partly from the build up and also from social media murmurings (not direct spoilers but they made it sound like he did). The scene would have been more impactful if he had (obviously), and honestly I was a little confused at first when he didn't.

Still, a great scene, and the more I thought about it the more it made sense for narrative reasons that he stay alive. It's still fairly early on in the story as well. So maybe better to save it for later.

Also not exactly anime but strawberry float it, I'm not digging around for a more appropriate topic for a small post about it. 8 episodes into Rwby and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. I think it's partly because I've approached it like an anime but in a lot of little ways it has subverted stuff about characters I'd expect. Have heard the animation gets a lot better but even still they've been creative with the corner cutting. It's not bad looking.

12 eps into Gundam 0079. Animation is very dated but it looks quite good at times and the story is decent enough. Char is such a schemer.

JoJo Part V anime teaser.

Edit: The next Murata-redrawn One Punch Man is 150 pages. He's a damn manga machine.

Finished HxH. Final arc was HxH personified: started slow, got boring (*bites tongue*), before I knew it I was totally engrossed all over and consuming multiple eps a morning.
There was a thread on ResetEra asking if a anime will ever surpass DBZ in the public's eye. For me it already has. Many times over. (Rurouni Kenshin, OPM, MHA, and HxH.) Though it would be an impossible task for me place them in order of preference.

Speaking of Rurouni Kenshin, Good Smile Company have started taking pre-orders for that statue. It's beautiful. Unfortunately I'll never willingly give its scumbag creator any of my money and so for now there's zero chance of me owning it.

And now on to s3 of MHA!

I love HxH, but that bug arc I couldn't get into, from the off I was all meh. I think I got to episode 90-ish. When they were planning the attack on the mansion thingy and one of the guys decided to poop himself at the aura of an insect person.

I was well into the arc by that stage, but I also felt meh for much of the build up so I totally know where you're coming from. But! It really does go to some unexpected places and so I would recommend giving it another try. Eps can be streamed from here: otakustream.tv/anime/hunter-x-hunter-2011/

The Chimera Ant arc does drag in places, but it's well worth reading or watching as it features some of the best moments in Hunter X Hunter. It's also followed by one of the best fights in the series and the current arc is looking very promising.

Edit: It must be said, the newest chapter of One Piece features some downright gorgeous artwork from Oda.

I absolutely adore HxH, to the point that it should easily be the best series I've ever seen. But DBZ has been so deeply ingrained into my psyche since childhood, I can't bear to let anything take it's spot.

It's still real to me, damn it.

In the anime?

I'll be ordering the HxH manga tomorrow as that was a hell of a place to leave the series off in.

Favourite credits scene: It was good seeing Kurapika again ... :(

 And I said what I did with the comfort of not having seen DBZ in a good long while. So yeah, flip knows what I'd actually think if I saw it again.

Well, shortly after the anime ends. I always seem to remember it ending with the Chimera Ant arc but yeah there are the 13th Hunter Chairman Election and Dark Continent Expedition arcs which are a short 8-12 chapters each. It's the Succession Contest arc which has that really special fight from Chapter 351-357. :datass:

I can't imagine rewatching Dragonball Z would be enjoyable with the pacing and filler issues it has. Kai was quite good although the Buu saga still has its share of issues.

I actually made my girlfriend sit through the uncut series a few years ago. Trooper that she is, she barely even complained at the bad pacing and season-long filler, god bless her soul.

But then, she's seen Bleach and Naruto in their entirety. This gooseberry fool doesn't even phase her at this point.
