From the frankly strawberry floating OUTSTANDING title music, to the post credits voice over from that episode's Main Baddie, I loved the whole thing. I've have watched it three times now, so news of the second series' impending arrival is
My daughter watched it as well and was equally taken with it. She's getting more into anime and manga, but, as ever, trying to find suitable titles for her is a bit tricky.
She's 11 and one of her pals had leant her Black Butler, along with telling her to watch Tokyo Ghoul. I hadn't heard of either but had to have a wee chat with her once I'd read up on them
think she's a bit young for them yet.
I've been told that Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon would be good for her to watch, but they don't seem to be available for streaming anywhere. There are loads of titles on Netflix and Hulu though, could anyone point me towards some others that wouldn't mentally scar her at the moment?
Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re are best avoided at that age as they contain a lot of death and is mostly about tragedy. Great series, but absolute shitshow of an anime makes it best enjoyed as a manga.
Mob Psycho 100 from the author of One Punch Man is something you'll both likely enjoy. Psychic battles and ghostbusting with a loveable MC, how can you resist?
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. My all-time favourite series and although it does contain some death and gore it's censored in the broadcast version and the overall campiness of certain characters makes it very charming. The manga has been running for over 30 years but it finally got a great anime adaptation in 2012 and we're just a couple of months from the beginning of Part V (we're currently on Part VIII in the manga).
Little Witch Academia. I've only watched a couple of episodes but it oozes charm and your daughter is at the perfect age for it.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Utterly hilarious show that lends itself perfectly for a quick blast whenever you have 5 minutes spare due to the episodes originally airing as a short daily skit. Addictive.
Magi: Adventure of Sinbad. Not got around to reading or watching this yet but have heard good things for this age group.
One Piece. Absolute monster of a series with a very unique artstyle, fun for all ages.
My Neighbour Seki. Classroom based hijinks that'll provide many-a-laugh.
My Ordinary Life/Nichijou. Gags, gags everywhere!
Your daughter is about the right age for many shoujo or shounen series, but I'm hesitant to recommend some of them as fan-service bullshit does seem quite pervasive and I'd assume you'd want something with strong female characters not just love interests or damsels in distress.
