I disagree. I could never get over the awful drawing style, and the story never really stuck for me.

Yes it is. Another great one in the sudden girlfriend appearance genre is Gou-dere Sora Nagihara...

Image

Which after looking to see if they finally finished translating it, it seems that it's been published here in North America! On one hand I really want to read the 4th volume, and support the author on the other I really don't want this to be associated with my amazon account. :slol:

Also it seems now Amazon have a platform for comics...

The last few HxH eps (around about the 96-98 mark) have the most bizarre flow to them... you think you're getting to the meat of it and they stick in a sort of filler eps (connected to the main story but not really), and then when they return to the main cast we get half the ep filled with chatter setting the scene up  :x Get bloody on with it!

My recommendations:

Action
Hunter x Hunter
Black Lagoon
Death Note (everyone's seen it; if you haven't you might not like it but it's a must-try at least)
One Punch Man
My Hero Academia
Deadman Wonderland
Attack on Titan

Sci-Fi
Psycho-Pass - note: only season 1, which is a well-rounded story anyway.
Parasyte

Sports
Ping Pong the Animation
Kuroko's Basketball

Slice of Life/Drama
Welcome to the NHK
Haruhi Suzimiya
Oreimo
Re:Life
Akagi
Kakegurui

Comedy
Panty, Stocking and Garterbelt (definitely action too but I feel it's more comedy-oriented)
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Fantasy
No Game no Life
Re:Zero

Manga
Soul Eater (hard-recommend this over the anime, but the anime is okay)
Dragon Ball (up until the Frieza arc)

I would especially recommend Hunter x Hunter, Psycho-Pass (series 1), Parasyte, Ping Pong the Animation, One Punch Man and Black Lagoon, above all.

I'm back to enjoying it!

The octopus

At first I was all "Who're all these ant scrubs I've never seen before?! I wanna see 'em fighting ants we saw in previous eps!" (Which they do, of course.) But pretty much all the fights with previously unseen ants have been quite entertaining. That darts one was bizarre.

Regarding Death Note:

I thought it was one of the best anime I'd seen right up to the cop/his wife's death. For me that was peak Death Note. It wasn't going to get better than that for me. I had no idea how right I was: because soon after that it went into the whole I know who he is but he doesn't know that I know that I think that I know he's BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH OMFG STOP!*repeatedly bangs head against wall* But yes, it's definitely one worth checking out all the same.

Yeah I kind get the feeling it fell victim to "Shonen syndrome", Where a series becomes way more popular than expected and either the author or the publisher strings out the series for longer than planned so the ideas become less and less thought out because they were never in the long term plan.
Naruto and Bleach had chronic cases of this, in Bleach's case it was almost terminal. (Well, for the anime it was terminal)

I don't know why I've never posted in this sub community pretty much ever.

Thanks Karl for not creating an abortion of a URL in that title. Tu tu roo.

I'm watching one punch man. ONE PUUUUUUUUUUUNCH!! It's brilliant.

I watch quite a lot of the Netflix catalogue stuff and exclusives, it's pretty good. I like the darker and scifi stuff but have been watching a bit more drama stuff too. I will try to remember a few

Death Note
Psycho Pass
Knights of Cydonia
Aijin
Full Metal Alchemist
Sword Art Online (series 1)
Sword Art Online 2 is actually quite good
Pokemon XY
My Girl/Life in Spring???

I definitely post regularly on this forum, some good stuff that hasn't been mentioned so far:

Mushishi
Fate Zero
Fate Stay Night: Unlimited Budget Works
Log Horizon
Blood Blockade Battlefront (& Beyond)
Toradora
Gintama - A rough start even for a pseudo shounen but once it gets going it's a top notch comedy/action show
Madoka Magicka
Konosuba
Trigun
A Certain Scientific Railgun - Index is alright too, but Railgun is where it's at

I'm also legally obliged to continue singing the praises of the excellent Gurren Lagann, Black Lagoon, My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist 2003/Brotherhood, Attack on Titan etc.

I really liked even the first dozen or so episodes of Gintama. Haven't progressed too far further with it but looking forward to it as I hear it just gets funnier and funnier.

Have you ever watched a Certain Scientific Railgun Karl? Definitely seems like it would be up your street.
