Do they ever explain in HxH (anime or manga) why Netero was allowing himself to be dictated to by that shadowy cabal?

Just saw HxH 125 and 6 and was blown away. A very cool display of powers and some lovely artwork.

Unfortunately can't answer that. Been years since I saw HxH; I watched it at the time of airing. So can't remember. Also haven't started reading the manga yet for a few reasons, but I guess the main one is that I don't like starting a manga from the point an anime ends - and reading the whole manga to catch up is a bit of a commitment.

I'm still watching Zatch/Gash Bell... 2/3s of the way into the show, although I'm not sure if I'll definitely watch the filler ending which runs through about 10 eps. It's hardly a profound show and in places it's saccharine or pretty simplistic, with a lot of episodes that don't seem too meaningful, but it's all been tying up well. I like the battles as they follow rules decently and there are surprises, and it's interesting seeing characters and teams develop. Nails its emotional moments too. Not sure if I'd really recommend it though, considering how long it is. There's only really one long shonen I'd recommend, and maybe some others up to a point.

I've started re-watching Ore Monogatari with my wife, as I never finished it.

It is a lovely show, that reaches levels of wholesome that shouldn't even be possible!

Hunter x Hunter. If you want to know what the scene would have shown: One of the characters has his head, specifically the space between his er, brain (I guess) and scalp infested with large, ever growing centipedes. You can even see their legs and mandibles poking out of the scalp :huuurrrrp:

I couldn't remember that either.

Think it's time for a re-read, all these hiatuses really screw with my ability to remember some characters and details. D.Gray-Man is another pain-in-the ass to follow; on hiatus for a few years only to return in quarterly instalments so you can barely remember what happened last chapter let alone a couple of arcs back.

Or perhaps I'm just reading too many ongoing manga... :fp: :shifty:

Ikalgo. (Y'know, the octopus ant and Killua's bro, as it were.)

Say so much about HxH that the protag has hardly been involved in the past handful of eps and yet the show remains immensely watchable. It really does have a cracking cast, even when the show is centred around characters whom you've only just met.

edit: I've just now started watching the 1999 version  :fp:

Man, the last two episodes of Boku no Hero Academia were just perfect and they really do a good job with selecting their VA's.

Been waiting years to see that moment animated and it didn't disappoint.

All the promotional material makes it seem like Arc System Works is developing the game but it turns out they're just publishing it. Which is a shame because they have a very good background in fighting games. Instead it's being developed by A+ Games who apparently have only made bad or mediocre games.

Not saying the game will be bad but...yeah. If you're a Kill la Kill fan or looking forward to a game based on the show I would lower your expectations a tad.

Ah man, that sucks. I only posted that because I know how good ASW fighting games are :fp:

HxH 131: What did they do to my beautiful Gon?! This is some horror gooseberry fool right here!
