This appears to be the first game using Motion Matching which blends animations. Where as games, especially football games, usually blend animations end to end so that there's nothing jarring in-between, this has overlapping animations, the running while reaching out to grab a bottle (inverse kinematics) was a great example.
Hit detection seems to be on another level too, whether it's hitting an enemy in the stomach or kissing and bumping noses.
Then there's facial animation, not just on the main characters, but on every NPC...

A demonstration of Motion Matching technology for anyone interested, this really is next generation stuff, can't wait to see games make more use of it

I don't know how you found so much footage of us being murdered since we never lost a game and 100% dominated at all times
.

Naughty Dog brought back maps from previous games for Uncharted 4, so I can't see why they wouldn't for Last of Us II.

Not yet, if it's like God of War we won't get a date until 3 months before release.
If it's anything like Uncharted 4 we'll get a release date and then a delay.

My Birthday is October the 9th so it makes perfect sense to release the game on that day.
I did buy the first game on PS3 and PS4 after all.
