What? I must have missed the Teddy bear tea party scene in the first game where clickers enjoy a cup of tea and a lemon slice with Joel and Ellie.

... . Hehe, yeah, I know it seems odd, really, but I saw clips of - IIRC - a couple of stabbing scenes in Part II that looked a bit too graphic for my tastes. I find it more noticeable when it's a person being attacked rather than a zombie/monster.

Oh it is violent. But this a certain trope for this kind of genre (The Walking Dead, etc)

I supposed I'm more pissed off that Naughty Dog, one of my favourite developers, have done nothing new ever since TLoU Part 2. It's all remakes or remasters. Yet I know I'll nab that upgrade. Part of the problem, I suppose.

By all accounts Naughty Dog have a new IP coming (a fantasy game) and TLOU3 is without a doubt at some stage of development.

People get annoyed about remasters but I highly doubt this is taking much away from their Sony's new releases. I'd be more up in arms at the money Sony is throwing at Live Service games which is delivering very little and could have been invested in bolstering their first party lineup.

Oh I do agree that Sony going down the live service games path is absolutely not ideal for me as a gamer.

As soon proper single player games dried up, it would be the end of my gaming days.

I don't think anyone knows what's coming out in 2024 from the stables of Sony apart from this news of a remaster of TLoU part 2.

Apparently they're rolling back their live service push somewhat.

It's a push that they're several years into now though, I think it's going to take some time to course correct which is probably partly why we haven't heard anything about what their lineup is going forward

Yeah. It was such a stupid decision in the first place; the live service grave yard is overflowing.

I'm really digging the new box artwork; it matches up with that of the first game on PS5. Those boxes are gonna look great side-by-side!

As well as the standard edition, a limited WLF* edition will be available direct from PlayStation. You can read more about the updated version of the game on the PlayStation Blog.

* WLF? I dunno what that stands for!**

Bet the special edition comes with a digital code just like Part 1 PS5 - for the price I think that’s inexcusable

On the fence. On one hand the extra content make this easy for me for a £10 upgrade and good value.

On the other hand did it really need any more polish for the PS5? Arguably it looks better than a lot of PS5 games already..

But then it’s a new console I suppose, & there’s a newer audience thanks to the TV show.

Hopefully this is all preamble to a Factions or Part III release trailer

Factions is almost certainly on ice for a few years and it’s way too soon for TLoU 3, and that’s even if they were planning to make it.

They are absolutely making that let’s not be silly ;)

Factions has meant to be have been in development for a few years now, and we’ve been shown some things from it until it was apparently iced - but a developer came out and said they were working on it now still.

Might be that part 3 doesn’t get an announcement until the second series comes out in I think 2025?

I assume we'll get whatever the new IP they've been working on first and unless Sony are planning to announce it then release it six months later, I doubt we'll be getting that until 2025 at the earliest. It's going to be almost 2030 by the time we get a Part 3.

Yeah, I think if Part 3 makes it out on the PS5 it's going to be at the end of the system's life.

Which of course, will mean TLOU Part 3 Remastered on the PS6 :datass:

Premiere trailer of the No Return rougelike mode.

PlayStation wrote:Experience The Last of Us Part II Remastered's deep combat via an entirely new single-player mode! Survive as long as you can in each run, as you choose your path through a series of randomized encounters featuring different foes and memorable locations from throughout Part II, all culminating in tense boss battles.

Unique gameplay modifiers can offer new and unexpected challenges as you fight to succeed – and survive - in a host of different encounter types. Play as Ellie, Abby, and a variety of unlockable characters, including never-before-playable characters like Dina, Jesse, Lev, and Tommy and more, each with unique traits to offer a variety of playstyles, and unlock skins for them as you progress to use in the mode.

Looks exciting... and scary!

I'm very excited for this! It's sounding great, love the large roster of characters there to play with.

...lovely  .

I noticed that even the characters and the title texts are aligned; and that the Naughty Dog and PlayStation Studios logos are re-arranged so that they mirror each other!

No Return looks like it's worth £10 on its own.

Anyone pick this up.

I've been playing this afternoon. It's definitely worth £10 but No Return as a mode is just sort of ok. It really is just an excuse to enjoy combat encounters. That's great but I don't think it will have much life outside a few play sessions.

There's a trailer for a making of documentary, I don't know where the documentary itself is. Lots of other fun little bits which are rather throwaway but round out the package.

If I borrow the ps4 version from a mate and install it, could I upgrade to this for a tenner?

Yes but you'll need the disc for whenever you want to play it (I think)
