3x02-Nora episodes are always excellent and depressing but that was actually pretty funny as well. Carrie Coon was amazing as always.

-The title music.
- It's a relief they showed Future Nora last week so we don't have worry about her dying in the cancer oven. Maybe the flashforward is only a week in the future though after the radiation give her loads of skin damage.
-Nora visiting Lily. :( What was the point of Tommy's story though? That she shouldn't have given away Lily? That's helpful.
-Slow motion Wu Tang trampoline.
- Printing out a picture of Tower Man was brutal. That was the sort of thing you'd expect from the GR.
-I burst out laughing at Kevin's "Let's have a baby!" a few seconds before Nora did.

Gotta say, though, I'm not a fan of her hair at all this season.

Good christ, that was a brilliant episode of television! Scott Glenn did an tremendous job. Glad they finally gave him a whole episode. Funny part is; I don't know if Kevin Sr. is legitimately insane, gone so far off the deep end it ain't funny OR if all this stuff he's talking about is actually going to happen, such is the nature of this show.

Also, for a man pushing 80 (I couldn't believe it either) Scott Glenn is in AMAZING shape.

3x03- Yeah Scott Glenn was great. If anyone watched this show that would be his Emmy episode.

-I thought I read Lindelof had said there was a new title credits song but that seems unlikely at this point.
-Grace's story may be a new level of bleak for this show. Christ. :(
-I enjoyed the shot of the paramedic just throwing the crutches at Kevin.
-Kevin Sr burning a mattress is what Junior saw on his TV in Hotel Purgatory right?
- Not including the snake, that's two deaths Kevin Sr has inadvertently caused in three weeks.
-The catheter scene. :dread: :dread:

I mean he's taking instructions from a chicken he met after an acid trip but then again his son is basically Jesus.Swings and roundabouts.

[edit] Apparently it's a one-off. It's the same song used in the 80's show Perfect Strangers, the star of which was the guy Nora met with this episode. I have no idea what's going on anymore.

Nora-centric episodes always deliver, though. The ending :o How many Kevin's have they been through? :dread:

FAO Oblomov: Slightly more manageable file size this week. Get it before it's taken down.

Thanks Chalky, just grabbed it (I tend to avoid threads for potential spoilers so only just saw your post).

Any luck with episode 3?

I guess it's going to be a different song every episode this season.

When was the burning mattress scene; in the Hotel episode? I remember his father in the TV but I don't remember the mattress bit.

I just watched that bit again in 2x08 to refresh my memory:
- So the first time Kevin briefly sees his dad on the TV, the hotel fire alarm immediately goes off.
- Later when Kevin finally gets to speak to him and he says he's in Perth, the bed behind him is on fire. He also says he's high on God's Tongue.

I don't remember Kevin's dad in the previous seasons, was he just in flashbacks or did he have a bigger role that I've completely forgotten?

Anyhow, another cracking episode!

He was in 3 or 4 episodes in season 1 but only made a short cameo in 1 episode last season.

Ah, I might have to do a quick rewatch then.

Holy gooseberry fool, this week's episode! Just outstanding. What an ending shot!

What's the deal with those people that Nora met? The guy in episode 2 gave the opposite answer and he was rejected, too. The strawberry float is going on?

So that's why Nora hates Kevin in the flashforward. :( Everything's gonna go strawberry floating pear-shaped, isn't it? :slol:

3x04- Superb episode.

-I loved Kevin's attempts at lying in the library scene. I need a book. About assassins.
- I missed what the crazy guy was ranting in the airport, something about a nuclear explosion?
- The fight scene at the hotel was brutal.

One of the comments on The AV Club review had a good theory about that- The would you kill the baby question is paired with the response to the mother needing a babysitter at the bus stop.

When she thinks she's not being tested Nora chooses to look after the stranger's baby. When she knows she's being tested Nora gives the response she thinks they want to hear which is contradictory to her actual instinct to look after the baby.

The guy who burnt himself alive presumably didn't help the woman at the bus stop but when questioned said he wouldn't hurt the child.

The correct response then is to remain consistent in your words and actions.

Yeah, I think the episode title gives that one away. Guaranteed it's gonna be one of the episodes of the season.

Well that was certainly an odd episode. Perhaps the oddest of the entire series.

Matt is finally broken. :(

3x05- Hilarious episode.

-Did you bring your whistle Laurie? :datass:
-Matt's joke

This is all I could think of when Laurie went to get sandwiches:

I didn't realise until he spoke with Matt but Burton was the guy Kevin met in the hotel. The one who told him to throw Patty in the well and do karaoke. :o

This show.

I've been re-watching this with my wife and it's amazing how much of this Australia stuff is foreshadowed back in season 1. Even the condition with Matt in this week's episode is alluded to in the flashback episode of season 1. The actor guy who was in 302 is shown on TV in a late season 1 episode, as well.

This has all been planned out very carefully.
