Why wasn't that episode the pilot, though? At the very least it should've been earlier in the season and not the second last episode.

I think by putting it at the end of the season where you already know what effect The Departure will have on the characters, seeing their previous life has greater impact. Plus by that point you've spent hours watching these characters so you're more emotionally invested when Nora's family disappears say.

Finished season 1 tonight. That was an intense episode. Really glad to see the Revenants get their due. Man, what a bunch of bastards. I thought Nora was 'doing a Shane' from The Shield at the end there and got very strawberry floating nervous indeed. Looking forward to starting season 2 tomorrow.

This theme that plays at various points throughout the season is fantastic.

I still have no idea what's going on with Kevin's son-in-law and the baby and all that side if it. I must have zoned out during some scenes in the earlier episodes.

I can't believe you're only just watching this :fp:.

Season 2 takes a while to get into, bit eventually you realise you're watching a masterpiece.

I really liked this promo HBO aired before season 2 started. In a minute it sets up the entire season.

Like Lost The Leftovers has a really great instrumental soundtrack which enhances scenes the way only great music can. This is probably my favourite piece from it:

IIRC Johnson from Peep Show was a cult leader who claimed to be able to make people feel better by hugging them and asked Tommy to look after his daughter. Tommy decided to leave the baby with his stepfather as he thought she'd be better off with Kevin.

Whether Johnson had powers or it was just a placebo thing is debatable, he made Nora happier though. Both in person and by setting up the chain of events which led to Nora getting a new daughter.

Enjoyed series 1, started series 2 wondering how it would tie in and by the end of it the show had become one of my favourites.

2 episodes of season 2 down and I'm already hooked. It's like a completely different show! Even Jill isn't annoying anymore and is acting like a normal, rational person (She was fine in the flashback episode of Season 1 also, so it was clearly a conscious decision to make her as annoying as possible).

I'm liking this new family. They're even more strawberry floated up than the Chief's. These two families living next-door to one another, this can only lead to great things.

Them opening credits, tho. :fp:

What did you think of the twenty minute cavewoman flashback in episode 1?

Oh gooseberry fool I forgot about that

I actually loved that, along with that stuff later on which made it like a new series of lost

Episodes 203 & 204 down tonight. God damn :datass: It's just getting better and better. I just noticed that Janel Maloney is top billed this season. Was she last season as well? That is the easiest money ever if she was  I'm sure she'll have a bigger role as it progresses, though, as was hinted at towards the end of episode 4.

One thing that is worrying me about this season (so far anyway) is that they seem to be doing the Lost & Walking Dead thing of spending entire episodes with different sets of characters where any cliffhangers and such aren't followed up until an episode later. That kind of thing really bothers me.

Also, did no one making this watch Mr. Robot and realise that THAT particular song selection in 203 might not have been the best idea? It's all I could think about during that montage.

She wasn't in the opening credits no.

I think that was just at the beginning of the season where they had to introduce the new characters and setup what the original characters were doing. IIRC after the first few episodes the narrative is fairly linear.

Christopher Eccelstone acts THE gooseberry fool out of his episodes. This poor guy just can't catch a break, though . Everything that can go wrong does!

He and Carrie Coon are definitely the best actors. How far are you in now, have you just seen 2x05?
