Couldn't see the blood moon where I live last night, for once I actually wanted clear skies!

It is crap but you do only have to hear the voiceover once, didn't you all just skip the cutscene?

I've never considered myself much of a Zelda sort of person, for some reason. I played a few of the 2D ones, and enjoyed them, but used to get stuck and rarely had the patience to see it through.

But this got such good reviews I couldn't ignore it. And holy strawberry float I'm glad I didn't. What a magnificent game this is. Everything just feels perfect - it's a really natural game to play. I've only had a few proper sessions with it, but have just left the Great Plateau (worried I may have done so a bit early). Slightly daunted by the scale of the world around me now, but loving pretty much every second of it.

Utterly essential for every Switch owner, IMO. Worth buying the console for, also IMO.

How would you say it compares to beating Ganon and finishing the game?

Poser and I have already reached peak exultation, Orange, and - to be honest - we're already walking with quite a swagger.

I get anxiety about whether I've missed important stuff, though  I might read a guide to make sure I've missed nothing.

I've refrained from using my Switch on my commute since getting it (I prefer to read), but I might have to start. :datass:

The only thing you might have missed of "importance" on the Great Plateau is the warm doublet

Yep, I don't have that :slol:

Managed the cold bit with food alone. I might head back for that, then.

Think you pick it up at the hut in the wood jf you don't get it before. Never checked though but sure I read somewhere that's the case.

Anyway I've started playing this again, about to do the Goron Divine Beast.

Aaaand that’s the end credits. What. A. Game.

Easy one of the best games I’ve ever played and most fun I’ve had with a game. Every hour I spent with it was a delight. Loved Hyrule Castle too, although I think the ending was slightly underwhelming.

Still got lots more to do in terms of side quests, shrines and memories - as well as the DLC - but might come back in a few weeks and play it, and am planning on re-visiting the game on Master Mode in the future. Or I’m just going to continue playing it for the rest of the evening.

Zelda games.

Well we can all admit the ending is crap but I don't know how it couldn't be in the context of the vastness of the game, they handled it well by making it an optional thing like everything else that is always there and not that difficult after a point.

I love how right after starting the game you have the objective "defeat Ganon" while thinking most of the time, "hey, this isn't so bad".

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Just picked up a switch to play this. Nervous about starting it. Wondering if it's something that can be played in and around other games? Or whether it's something that you need to stick with?

I tend to only play one game at a time and have Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Spiderman on Pre-order.

I think that's entirely down to you and your gaming habits. I know i wouldn't be able to, but many others say that it is perfect to play for 10 minutes before booting up a different game. For me, any game that has "substance" to it would have to be played in isolation. Supporting games would have to be things in the realm of Warioware / Rhythm Heaven etc.

That being said, you could leave the game for months and soon get back in to the swing of it. You just might have to accept it wont be your "main" for a period of time.

I've personally found it fine to play around other games, the way the game is set up I think it doesn't really make that much of a difference how long you have. Only got a short amount of time? Do a shrine or 2 or climb a tower, got longer? Just do the same but more shrines and exploring. Side quests don't suffer either as quite a few of them are fetch quests. Even though the game is huge it is quite easy to pick up and play in short or long play sessions.

Saying that when I first played it on Wii U I was more or less exclusively playing this from its release till when I completed it towards the end of May 2017.
