That would make sense. I'd used up all my arrows by that point in the fight, though. Will try that next!

Yeah arrow to the face works the best really, or if they really are that low on health just get your best weapon out and smash their head in

I generally spam them with bomb arrows. Jump and use the glider in the updraft caused by the laser/fire and then you can get in a slow mo hit. Even a standard arrow will stun them and then you can rush towards them with a heavy weapon, a few hits should do it as that's their last stand. You can easily avoid the laserbeams by either running away or staying locked on and strafing behind a pillar.

Also something I only realised on my current (second) play through is that in some of those test of strength rooms there are no pillars, BUT, there are metal ones hidden in the floor. Magnet those buggers up and block the lasers :toot:

Really? This is one of the things I adore about this game, you're always finding new things and new ways to play it :)

I've done all of the strength test and I had no strawberry floating clue about that :o

I only found them because I activated that power by accident and saw all the pink squares.

Once again it’s wanting to have your cake and eat it.
For years people have been crying out for a Zelda game that takes real risks and breaks the formula and freshens up the whole series. This did this in spades.

The whole world is the Dungeon. Just because it isn’t parcelled off into 6/7 separate ones.

A game that delivers 100+ hours of gameplay and still you want more. It would have been less of a game if they’d just made the four beasts bigger and better dungeons. It would also have led to far more people having the shortened less immersive experience where they just ‘beat the game’.

It’s down to personal opinion. For me the total of shrines and beasts added up to more challenges and puzzles than any other Zelda. It was a deliberate choice to change the Zelda template and it was a stunning triumph.
I’ve never played a game like it. I’m just sorry others didn’t love it as much as I did.

Just fought a big old Hinox on that suspension bridge - You can't climb up the larger enemies like in Dragon's Dogma or anything, can you? Wanted to try and crawl up his back and just stab him in the eye but it wasn't having any of it.

You can only get on them when they're sleeping. Not sure if you can land on them and stay on though.

Or do something like this

You can climb up the rock giants and melee their weak spot.

I use the 'magic' bombs. Just chuck one across - it bounces on the updraft - and detonate when it's close. Might take a touch longer, feels a bit spammy, but there's zero risk.

The last puzzle in the Mirro Shaz shrine is infinitely more frustrating due to the weapon degradation. Trying to clobber a ball enough in stasis to blast it into a hole when the weapons they give you break after four or five attempts :x Would be so much easier if they made it so weapons only broke when you were actually attacking enemies, not inanimate strawberry floating objects.

Yeah that pissed me right off. Plus as I'm a completionist I had to do it twice for the chest........ which probably had a weapon in it. :x

They should either have done some think where there is a hammer you use for that but that would don't put in your inventory or something for those bits because as you says it's shut to blast your weapons away or have to swap out something decent for a hammer to just do a shrine.

At the very least shrine puzzle objects shouldn't contribute to wear.

I think that’s probably the most frustrating thing in the game. Fortunately you don’t need to do those for 100%

Worst thing I found for that is you have to move from the spot to reset the ball, so you lose your mark for acruacy, then if a weapon breaks it means any other ones have a different starting point and range per hit.

Infuriating.

I recall for that shrine I just found myself a couple of decent weapons and then kept trying it till I did it, reloading if the weapons broke as I really didn't want to waste too many on it.

Yeah I lost a bunch to that. Satisfying to get it though.
