Majora's Mask is perhaps the first game where I felt actual emotional attachment to the characters. I think there was a bit you had to do to get one of the masks where you prevented Anju and Kafei (are those names right?) from getting married. You end up in Anju's room with her in her wedding dress, waiting for the moon to totally destroy everything and she's there, absolutely adamant that her husband-to-be will return any moment so that they can be together as the world ends.

I loved being able to transform in a Deku scrub, a Goron and a Zora. I loved the personalities of the people in the Clock Town and how you could follow them around on their chores over the 72 hours. I loved the darker tone, that wasn't emo as previously suggested, just more 'realistic fantasy' (if you'll excuse that awful oxymoron). I loved the bit right at the start when you move Link to jump over a gap and he does a little flip.

Majora's Mask has the worst bosses out of all the 3D Zelda games.

The race/chase against the big-ass metal bull was conceptually awesome, but actually pretty boring in execution.

He's basically just a tall bloke in a mask.

Nice to see the yellow fairy giving the guy a peck on the cheek, there. He looks absolutely thrilled.

He genuinely disturbed me the first time I played through it.

Odolwa, that is. Not Kane.

I may well have only been 10, but that's not important.

That and it really rewarded you for seeking out all the sidequests and Masks in order to get the whole ending. Which was a lovely touch.

I felt overwhelmed by the depth of some of the sidequests.

When I decided to finally attempt to beat the game a couple of years ago, I stopped just ahead of final dungeon to try and collect as many of the remaining masks as I could. And didn't get any further.

And Majora's Mask is one of the only games I have ever purchased a guide for.

Was that the guide with the section at the end that you had to rip open to read about the good ending and whatnot?
I've still got my one of those upstairs somewhere :D

I spent ages finding all the masks. It's the only Zelda (Aside from Zelda DX) that I've ever finished 100% 8-)
