Exactly which 2D Zelda does it remind you of?

Nah, I'm with you. Looks lovely.

It really doesn't. None of the charm of Wind Waker, none of the detail of Twilight Princess. It's like they took the blandest possible parts of both aesthetics.

I'm not counting that against it at the moment, though. If Wind Waker/Twilight Princess has taught me anything, it's that you should never assume you know better than Miyamoto.

What it DOES remind me of is the manual art of Zelda 2.

I agree, with better graphics this would be top of my E3 hits list already but it just kinda looks bland.
As long as it's fun to play, suitably large and diverse then it should be another great zelda game regardless.

I wonder if they could pull a Borderlands and redo the style.

Well allow me to entirely disagree. I think the style is a perfect fit for a Zelda game. Everyone hated Wind Waker's style at first, too, if I recall. I reckon you'll change your mind once we've seen a bit more gameplay footage. It's always possible that I'll change my mind, of course, but initial impressions are good as far as I'm concerned.

The environment looking quite empty didn't help I don't think and the trailer was pretty poor for a Zelda.

Though I'ld love a gif of the cliff diving

The enviroment in most early Zelda trailers is usually fairly empty. I didn't hold that against it either.

Naturally. Your opinion remains yours, as mine does mine.

I ALWAYS loved the Wind Waker art style.

Yeah I agree, I would rather they just went with full cell shading with the cartoon look. This looks like an awful mish mash between the two camps, very bland.

I like the new look. A good mix between TP and LTTP i think. The description of the controls doesnt fill me with confidence, I hope they put button press alternatives to all the waggle controls.

Is there any release date for this yet?

The only good thing about that trailer was the Majora's Mask cameo.

I feel a little upset that some don't like the look of this; I'm absolutely enamoured with the darn thing, so I hope people warm to it with time.

It's Zelda nobody is going to right it off and it wasn't bad looking it was just sort of 'oh'

It looks like LTTP in 3D really, need to see more of it, importantly it looks like it plays brilliantly.

It's weird, Wind Waker is still the most gorgeous Nintendo game of all time to me besides TTYD and WLSI, but this does absolutely nothing for me. It really is like they took the blandest parts of WW and TP and mixed them together.

I do also wonder how old this build they showed was, slight controller lag when off stage, massive tutorials on screen and no camera movement?

Art work is lovely
