 A few problems with the footage though.

The new controls seem gooseberry fool. No one can get the shield to work right. Also, link runs around with the sword pointing forward. That looks retarded and he'll have someone's eye out - More like wayward sword! amiright?

While I wasn't exactly dazzled by Zelda, the shield controls aren't an issue. Shake nunchuk to raise it, thrust forward at the right time to deflect projectiles. You need to time it right or it wouldn't be a challenge - can't see the video but I presume that's the issue.

The one minor control niggle I had was with the plants that require vertical or horizontal slashes - just once or twice Link would simply bop them on the head instead of slicing through them.

Yeah, the trailer was pretty weak. I can't help but notice how they've basically shown nothing about the game, and they're pretty quiet when it comes to talking about it too. The trailer was scenes from the E3 demo, and you could almost say it wasn't a proper trailer. It makes you wonder what they're trying to hide.

My hope is that by keeping expectations and anticipation low--restricting how much we see and how much information is divulged--the actual game itself will leave a greater impact if it turns out to be really impressive. I'm glad I've only seen a small woodland area and parts of a volcano's innards; I now wonder what a winter wonderland or desert would look like with the style they've got going. Perhaps they'll discard such areas in favour of landscapes that more readily complement the new aesthetic.

It's certainly unusual, I'd hope they're disguising a big gameplay shift, it could well be more than a year till it's out afterall.

Unless it turns out to do something amazing/different it's one I think I'll give a miss. Not being negative for negatives sake - i'm just getting tired of each Zelda came following such a similar formula. There's nothing new/exciting for me.

I'd also hope that the 'world' actually feels populated in the new game... that was something which I thought was really missing in TP.

This is probably the most informative video yet. There is a whole second area in the demo that I haven't seen yet, where you get to see a nice waterfall, and it confirms the area has two bosses you can find. There is also a bit where he pulls up the map and you get to see the full outside area of the dungeon, which is pretty huge.

Sadly he stops to show the map and the controls when he gets to the second area, so we don't get to see what the second boss is. :(

From the footage, I believe the X marks are entrances to the inner dungeon(s). Field areas and dungeons combine in one awesome explosion of Zelda awesomeness? I think so.

Another Zelda GRPlayde?

I'd love to play Wind Waker or Twilight Princess again (on the GC this time).

Also, I haven't seen an inkling as to what the plot is about. Did we get an information as to who that grey figure was in the first bit of concept art?

That's the fairy of the Master Sword I think.

I'd be up for a new GRplayde, I started Twilight Princess up again a few days ago.

This is pretty interesting:

In fact, Miyamoto promises that the version on display at E3 is considerably less accurate than the final game will be, since the E3 build is entirely focused around Wii Motion Plus; due to the likelihood of interference from lights, Nintendo has temporarily disabled the standard Wii sensor aspect of the game. However, Miyamoto promises it will be restored for the final version, resulting in much smoother controls.

We know the M+ has to recalibrate itself every so often or it goes nuts, but it seems the E3 demo never recalibrated and had no sensor bar so all the controls were just working from the M+, rather than the M+ and sensor bar in tandem. The controls look really smooth in the videos, so the idea of it getting even smoother in the final version is awesome.

I'm not sold on the art style yet, but the bit with the smoke coming out of the volcano was pretty nice.

Yup: She's the Skyward Sword and is basically going to be the game's Navi.

We've only a bit of, quite interesting, plot stuff so far: Link comes from SkyLoft, a Sky kingdom far above Hyrule. Hyrule gets covered in evil and somehow Link ends up being the one sent to sort out the mess.

I'd definitely be up for GRplayde of Twilight Princess. Just finished Galaxy 2 and feel like a bit more Nintendo magic (plus it's the only Zelda of recent times I've only completed once).
